The New Yorker, Barack Obama, The Muslim Cartoon Satire
I don’t read The New Yorker as much as I want to, it’s an excellent magazine though. So, it was shocking to me when I learned earlier in the day that they had a frontpage which depicted, in a cartoon satire, Barack Obama and his wife, within the White House, adorning “muslim atire”, with a big picture of Osama Bin Laden on the wall. Don’t forget to mention that Barack Obama’s wife was strapping a machine gun.
For crying out loud, I realize that it’s political satire, done in a comic style, but geesh, talk about politically incorrect.
The New Yorker, according to their recent statements, was trying to make a political satire, focusing on the right wing agenda’s motive of trying to portray Barack Obama as un-American, even going as far as trying to get the word out that Barack Obama is a muslim.
The only reason that this Mr. & Mrs. Obama satire DOES have impact — and may very likely spread — is because like all good satire, or good humor for that matter, there’s more than a germ of truth in it. Otherwise, the satire would utterly roll off the Obamoids’ backs, having no impact.
@Malloy, yes you’re right that all political satire has within its core, a grain of truth in it. But in this satire, I hope you don’t forget that the grain of truth is based on the right wing’s agenda to plaster Barack Obama as a muslim in the minds of Americans.
The truth that Barack Obama is a muslim, is non-existent. That should not even be a debate in the first place. If you believe such hogwash, then we definitely know which news agency you listen to.

Nonsense. This is another manifestation of a media gone mad in this country. A media that sees Obama as white and McCain as white. One
that is smeared with lies and innuendo and the other that is treated with kid gloves. That is the real tradegy.
I wish someone would do a picture of mccain as hitler and his wife

I believe that the cartoon is correct ! Barack Hussein Obama has had numerous ties and connections to Domestic Terrorists, (William Ayers) the founder of the DOMESTIC TERRORIST ORGANIZATION ( WEATHER UNDERGROUND !) This is the ORGANIZATION that EXPLODED BOMBS at the Pentagon and the US Capitol! Not so much unlike the 911 TERRORIST ATTACKS in NY ! Any connection to any Terrorist or Terrorist Organization is too much for a President or Presidential Hopeful ! A US PRESIDENT SHOULD BE PROUD OF AMERICA AND BE PATRIOTIC !
