Saddam Hussein To Be Executed

Quite a whirlwind of a day for the former dictator of Iraq. The news started off that there were rumors that Saddam would be executed as early as this weekend, but breaking news from all news sources as well as senior Iraqi officials all say that the execution will be at around 11am Philippine time.

There is also news at the time of writing of this article that witnesses are gathering around the green zone in Iraq for the execution.

I really don’t think the announcement bodes well for Public relations matter. There were news earlier on that the execution would not be announced until after it was already done, and video of the execution would be shot and snippets would be shown to the public.

So much for that plan. I guess there plan now is to announce to the world and have timer up to the death of Saddam. Sort of like a New Years thing. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t care much for Saddam Hussein, but the manner of death is so medieval… Death by hanging./

From the beginning of the trial, there was pressure on the Iraqi government. That the trial should be done in a fast manner, and Saddam to be sentenced and executed quickly as well. Quick is the key word today when we refer to Saddam Hussein.

So, I guess we should wait to see the fate of the former dictator.
