Gonzalez Sacks Burgos Prosecutor
Do you smell a cover-up? Just when I could finally trust the investigation into the Burgos case, Gonzalez is ready to sack Senior state prosecutor Emmanuel Velasco.
Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez is considering relieving Senior State Prosecutor Emmanuel Velasco from the Jonas Burgos case for prematurely disclosing the military’s alleged link to the activist’s abduction.
And, because of this, Gonzalez also said Velasco had also practically invited the death threats he received on Tuesday.
Asked to comment on the death threat on Velasco, Gonzalez replied: “I think he asked for it.”
Velasco said he received the text message warning him against crossing the “emperor” from a phone with the number 0915-9973844 early Tuesday afternoon.
“Hayop ka Velasco. Hindi mo kaya si emperor, ihahabol ka namin kay Jonas. Bilang na oras mo, magtago ka na [You are an animal, Velasco. You cannot take on emperor. We send you where Jonas is. Your days are numbered; hide]’,” the message read.
Gonzalez, the protector of Government, not truth… What Gonzalez fails to mention is that the government does it all the time with suspects, parading them in front of cameras. But when it’s the government that’s being paraded, here comes Gonzalez to the rescue.
