Comelec Hearings on Maguindanao: Closed Door Session
Today’s hearing on the Maguindanao Election is going to be a closed door Executive Session. Apparently, we are again, supposed to trust Comelec to investigate itself.
What a bunch of crap. I didn’t even realize, that this was going to happen last week. Here we were, calling on a new focus date to be today, because maybe, just maybe, we would finally hear what has happened to the missing Municipal Certificates of Canvass as well as the Statement of Votes, including all other election documents. We would also hear the explanations of the local officials, as well as the ever elusive Provincial Supervisor of Maguindanao, Lintang Bedol.
It looks like the only thing we will be hearing, is the statements that will come from the mouth of Comelec itself. Apparently, Comelec has such a high view of itself, that it thinks the public will actually believe what really happened behind the closed door session.
Not only that, but not even media is allowed to witness the closed door executive session. Just like the canvassing in Maguindanao, there will again be no witnesses. Let’s all thank the Comelec for its transparency…
