Pinoy Top Blogs, Ratified.org, and Ranking The Pinoy Blogosphere

Considering The Heated Debate That I’ve been participating in over at Yugatech.com, with regards to not having Michelle Malkin in any of the top list, I submit that maybe Pinoytopblogs should undergo a reorganization with a new format, and a new way of doing things.

Abe has been great for The Philippine Blogging Community, but with regards to completely solidifying PinoyTopBlogs as the premiere ranking website in The Philippines, I think maybe Abe should partner up with Andrew of Ratified.org or maybe re-develop The site.

It’s always been a thought of mine, that self submission fails to include those who don’t submit their site to the ranking engine, and thus is excluded from the list. It’s sort of like if Alexa somehow decided to start recording the traffic of those who only had an Alexa badge on their blogs or website.

If we are to rank the Philippine Blogosphere correctly, maybe we should include all blogs and not just the blogs who put the Pinoytopblogs badge on their blogs.

I’m not being an ingrate here. I’m a big supporter of Abe, as you know, I even wrote for him during his libel case. But this seems to me, a perfect situation to rethink Pinoytopblogs to be inclusive of all Filipino Blogs.

  1. Hi Nick, I’ve been contemplating along those lines for some time now actually but the fact that previously listed blogs have voluntarily been removed by the bloggers on the list (including the ones that ranked in the top 10 before), it only makes it close to impossible to add them back again.

  2. I see your point Yuga, it’s a daunting task indeed, if there is no cooperation with the blog owners themselves, then we tend to overlook the blogs that aren’t so mainstream,

And in your case, more and more blogs keep popping up that there definitely is a situation that without self submission, you would spend your entire day scouring the net for Filipino Blogs.

But, your list has been and continues to be the TOP pinoy list bar none.

With almost 3000 blogs under its belt, it certainly gives us a great snapshot…

A very happy birthday to Pinoy Top Blogs

  3. I just voted for you, bro.

  4. ratified has improved its listings which doesn’t rely solely on technorati.

  5. Thanks Schumey!! Very much obliged…

  6. What if I want to remain anonymous while blogging? Can I be eligible for the top lists? I’m admittedly Filipino, that’s as far as I can go. But can I be recognized for my work even if no one knows me? Is this against any unwritten rule of blogging? Thanks.

Kindly leave a comment on my site so I can remember going back to this post.

  7. Newbie Blogger, you don’t really need to give out your personal information to join any of these top lists. All you need to do is be able to cut and paste the code into your website so that the tracking script will be able to track the traffic to your blog.
