Some Dog Owners Are Too Negligent

In the video below, GMA reports of a pitbull that bit three neighbors who were drinking, apparently the pitbull was irritated by the noise. Far be it for me to complain about dogs, since I’m a dog lover myself. But this is ridiculous, to say that the pitbull was irritated by the noise. The main point is lost here, and that is that dogs should be on a leash at all times, or at least confined within your property.

It’s hard enough that medical bills are through the roof, but it seems, that it’s hard for people to even walk around or even jog, without some dog loose and free to chase you down the block. These individuals who cannot keep their dogs within their property and who neglect to chain their dogs should be fined, and fined heavily until they realize that it is irresponsible of them to not do so. It’s part of their responsibility as citizens to keep the neighborhood safe, and that includes not setting their dog loose, because that is just an accident waiting to happen.

    Dogs are man’s best friend. I truly agree with this saying.

    I myself is a dog-lover, and incidentally born on the year of the DOG! (1970)

    however, let us not forget that these God creations have their own feelings just like humans. But the problem is that we cannot tell their temperaments until they show it;

    Responsible owners of dogs must ensure that safety is paramount when blending these friendly creature to humans. So as not to result in such grim incidents.

    Prevention is still, the best cure!

    Love your Dogs!

  2. I have 2 dogs and I still carry around a bag whenever I walk them. Owners should know how to take care of their pets. Its like owning a gun, one must be always responsible.

    The pics of the EB, I sure will be published soon by Kneeko. Unfortunately, I’ve requested him to hide my identity though. But the rest of the family will be shown. I hope we get to meet soon.

  3. @Mark, very well put. Year of the dog ka pala :)

    @Schumey, responsibility definitely extends to our dogs.. I’ve been hopping around the blogs for the pictures :)

    I understand regarding the identity, it’s difficult indeed, in the times we live in.. Thus, my blurry picture, in my about page.

  4. Just as the 2007 Anti-Rabies Act was signed then two weeks later this report…saddening yet alarming…

    The IRR (for the said law) should be made available the soonest possible time.

  5. It definitely is an alarming reality. For the safety of children as well as the general public, it’s important for this to be implemented forcefully, without favor.

    @Baycas, thank you for the heads up regarding this ACT, I wasn’t aware of the passage of this act.
