Motive Versus Truth: Jun Lozada’s Credibility
The recent attempts of The Arroyo Administration, whether they admit it or not, is an attempt to discredit Rodolfo Noel “Jun” Lozada. But they fail to realize, that the public opinion regarding the role of the administration in the NBN deal is already set in stone. Most people already think that the Arroyo Administration, Abalos, First Gentleman, and President Gloria Arroyo herself is involved in the shady NBN Deal including their attempts to silence Jun Lozada.
What their attempts have been successfully of doing, is to cast a doubt as to the motives and character of Jun Lozada. But then again, they still don’t realize that this is bigger than Jun Lozada, this is about corruption at the highest post, and the collusion of top officials to plunder our nation.
In the end, it doesn’t matter, what they dig up on Jun Lozada, affairs and all, the meat of the matter is that their involvement has already been judged by the courts of public opinion. The only thing wiretaps, former employees, and other records can do is to cast a doubt regarding Jun Lozada, but not on the corruption regarding the NBN deal itself.
We must, have a clear distinction though, because the Arroyo Administration will try their best to blur the lines between the two. The truth of the NBN deal itself and the character of Jun Lozada, they are distinguishable and easily separated. And in all respects, the result that led to the NBN deal has already been exposed. And this my dear friends, already has implications of whether or not we should call for the resignation of Arroyo.
Little by little, the scandal has unraveled because The Administration has been on the end of numerous flip flops in their statements, including the recent Arroyo slip of the tongue with regards to her knowledge of anomalies in the NBN deal the night before the signing. We also have the knowledge that Romulo Neri informed her of the bribe attempt from Benjamin Abalos months in advance of the signing. One cannot take these statements lightly.
Indeed, The Arroyo Administration strategy is to discredit Lozada in order to throw everyone off their own dirty deeds.
But I don’t care if Jun Lozada has dirty laundry. I don’t care if his mouth spews out curse words after curse words. I really don’t care if he was part of the culture of corruption.
The main goal here is to realize, that this imperfect man, Jun Lozada, who has been in the midst of the culture of corruption at the very top echelon in our government, has been made purview of the illegalities of a shady NBN deal. Curse the man to hell for all I care, he is still credible. Not because of his character, but because of the circumstances that has surrounded him, including a botched up kidnapping and possible liquidation. And because the fact that his statements have been consistent, and because they are logical. His statements have been corroborated by other witnesses. His statements have been corroborated by MalacaƱang officials themselves.
And because, frankly the other side’s statement falls on deaf ears when we consider that this is the side that has been consistent with a culture of corruption, an administration where Extra Judicial killings have increased, where press freedoms have been challenged both by force and by intimidations of lawsuits, this is also a side that has been involved in the election anomalies of 2004 and 2007.
As with the previous article, “Patriots for Truth“, we can see a concerted effort of discrediting witnesses such as Jun Lozada. These wiretaps are concerning, not only because they display only one side’s dirty laundry, but they give us a wider sense of being in a military state, where everyone can be watched and monitored. It’s a sad reality that the propaganda will actually sway some individuals, who don’t realize that the propaganda itself has not and will not succeed in derailing the truth that the NBN deal was corrupt from the very beginning, and that only one family had the power and resources to see it through. We are logical beings, let us think, and not be swayed.
For all of us now, we need only to concentrate on the corruption of deals such as the NBN deal, let all those involved crumble in the face of justice. I myself need no Jun Lozada as a hero, only the truth that he speaks. And that’s enough for me.

thanks for the kind words, nick!
What is the role of Jun Lozada in the botched ZTE deal? He is the Philforest president. How come he was involved?
Sure, Jun Lozada is telling the truth about corruption. Joey de Venecia was also telling the truth about the bribery. Is that enough to make these crooks or “new” heroes? Let us hear more and not just the botched ZTE deal. This guys are deeply involved in corruption. Why are they limiting the stroy to just this one?
What other kickbacks did this dynamic duo received from the past. The Arroyo administration is corrupt. Prior to the botched where the combo of Jun and Joey lost in the bidding, they were sleeping with the regime.
You guys are too impatient and would like to oust GMA the soonest time. The dynamics have changed. We are tired of being manipulated by both sides.
Bring the issue to court. Not here. Not in the streets. Lozada, de Venecia, Abalos, Neri, all of them must be punished.
Gloria will have to wait. 2010. It’s a date, GMA. See you in court.
Lozada must face justice too.
Justice is blind. Lozada, Joey de Venecia, Abalos, FG and all those involved should pay the price. GMA in 2010. Justice awaits.
