Malu Fernandez: The Perceived Reality of A Diva
The People Asia article of Malu Fernandez is based on prejudice and discrimination on the belief that social or economic status determines a person’s worth. And that just because one perceives himself or herself as being in the higher socioeconomic class, gives that person the right to speak with great and utter disrespect, intolerance, discrimination, and bigotry for her own fellow countrymen. And yet, as we often realize, reality is not often in line with perception.
While Malu may tout her observation as mere tongue-in-cheek and being of acerbic wit, and yet rooted in reality, I would contend that this isn’t actual reality, but rather it is the perceived reality of the mind of a self-professed-diva. (of which I hope sometime in the near future, for her sake, her paradigm shifts dramatically)
Again, reality would entail a critique in line with the growing gap between the rich and the poor, and the perceived observation, that some or many of the ailments of our country is rooted in indolence in some Filipinos. This is a reality based critique that would have been fair and have merited a fruitful discussion.
But because it seems our dear Malu would implicitly make statements that make it seem that traveling the economy class is beneath her (yet she chose to fly anyway, to save money), I think we should give her the same respect that she feels those lower to her in socioeconomic terms deserve. Last I heard, the problems we face as a nation weren’t rooted in Filipinos having to fly economic class, wearing Axe cologne, or being hospitable while out of the country.
I think the problems we face today, are because individuals like Malu Fernandez think that it is futile to try to make our nation better, that being hospitable is a sign of poor taste, and that elitist find it acceptable to malign the individuals of lower social class.
As a sign of national unity, and love for their own countrymen, when Filipinos see other Filipinos outside of the country, it is a time to smile and acknowledge each other because even in faraway lands, they share a common nationality and heritage. Of course, Malu Fernandez misses this altogether, maybe because of her snobbish attitude. And I sincerely think that maybe, just maybe, no other Filipino is forthcoming with their hospitality when it comes to this self-professed Diva and thus she lashes out. It’s so hard to be up on her high horse.
Again, take a look at reality, and you will see, that our noble Overseas Filipino Workers struggle and sacrifice for the sake of their family as well as their homeland, and putting them down, in her perceived witty article, is just too much for any Filipino to take. Again, taking a stand against such discrimination is the obligation that we all face with regards to such issues as this.

My son, who blogs regularly for an international group, sent me a copy of your commentary on what Ms Malu Fernandez wrote. One must understand — within limits, that is — the narrow social world that Malu gravitates in. I am guessing, but I recall this from past issues of People and Lifestyle magazines where her world was limited to the more sosyal parts of the Philippine cultural landscape.
My own family can probably be counted among those with reasonable means, and I can probably tick off many people living in her circle as friends or acquaintances. But why look down on our other Filipino brothers and sisters simply because they do not smell or speak as she wishes? One of the first things our parents taught us was to be humble — at all times. One can also find so many interesting things to learn by mixing with the masses. During trips abroad, whenever I or family members would get lost or in trouble, it was always a kindly OFW who would point us out in the right direction. Or tell us to guard our belongings when certain unsavory characters would board the same tram we would be in. Try hanging around Statue Square in HK and chatting with the Filipinas putting in a bit of socializing in between weeks of grinding labor that many of us would cringe trying to undertake.
Not only do I continue to salute their valiant efforts to support themselves and their families, but I deplore those who dare look down on them and their efforts.
[...] Malu Fernandez: The Perceived Reality of a Diva Tingog [...]
I read Malu Fernandez piece only when I entered tsikot.com forum and they had the longest string of raging commentaries. I googled who Malu Fernandez was because I never ever heard of her and so unfortunate that i got to know her only from the moment her ugly article came out. I surmised that if my fave writers/journalist who wrote for major dailies has not given her a few lines, maybe she really is an unknown.
But come to think of it…where does this Malu exist after all? How can she claim to be soooo above the common Pinoys that she derides so much? Even loquacious and condescending Kris Aquino never dared say such demeaning things against OFWs. Meaning, she knows that the world she exists in is being kept afloat by the lowly OFWs.
And what is pitiably funny is that Malu thought her article was witty and hilarious. I hope this time she is so shaken up by her own mediocre writing style that she would consider transferring to the tabloid showbiz columns and write in Tagalog. I’m sure she will have a grand time in the company of Manay Lolit, Tita Cristy Fermin and many more. (I’m so mababaw and so masa that I am so entertained by their writing style and topics). Maybe the two can slam her to the ground of reality.
The fact that there are people like Malu Fernandez who would write such piece of garbage under the guise of journalism is apalling to me. The fact that people would pay money to read such articles is incomprehensible.
To Ms Fernandez, you are obviously a very immature, insensitive, insecure and ignorant person if you think that class is defined by luxuries you are able to enjoy, the amount of money you have in your bank account and the material (signature or designer) trappings you surround yourself with. You Mother must not have taught you the meaning of certain values and virtues like integrity, kindness, generousity, humility and respect for others. These are values and virtues taught to us as Catholics. Sadly, it looks like your MOther did not even taught you plain common sense or you would know better.
If you think that the way you conduct yourself is classy, then you are mis-guided. In any culture, in any country, true elites do not brandish their wealth and place in society. That is not class, that is brash. . .which rhymes with trash. Having class is being refined, knowing your good manners and right conduct, being comfortable and secure in your wealth and economic stature that it is not necessary for you to advertise it or brandish it around because it comes naturally to you.
The fact that a publication would arm you with such a powerful tool as a journalist (supposedly) makes me question the standard and code of ethics that your publication represents.
There is nothing funny about ridiculing one’s personal or economic background (or lack thereof). It certainly is not worth a space on any respectable reading material. There is nothing shameful about about poor or being a domestic helper or being an Overseas Worker.
The revenue that our Overseas Workers bring in, is the backbone of our economy. IF you do not realize that Ms Fernandez and if you cannot appreciate that, then you should be ashamed of yourself for your ignorance. You should try and read more and write less.
Being a Diva is nothing to be proud of unless you are an opera singer. Calling yourself a Diva because you are a grown woman acting like a little spoiled brat is stupid and laughable. You think your articles were funny because you can poke fun of people whom you thought were beneath you, you are a pathetic excuse for a journalist. You are the punchline in your own joke and people are laughing at you, not with you.
Take a good look inside yourself and try to find something more profound and substantial within your soul. Try and look around you and count your blessings that you are not amongst the poor that you make fun of in your collumns. Try an make yourself a better human being instead of this caricature that you try to be.
OMG again, why oh why is this woman still allowed to write. She recently wrote a piece on “dating tips.” Seriously! Would you take the dating advice of an unpleasant bigot like her??? I hope she falls for an OFW (But I would not wish her on anyone…) Poor OFW.
I been living in Dubai for 14 years now. Filipino community in Dubai UAE is totaly NOT as what Malu described in her article> domestic helpers, noisy and irritating using cheap perfumes. By the way large numbers of Filipino workers in UAE are not domestic helpers, most of them are hoteliers, nurses, secretaries, executives, stewardess, sales, engineers/architects, communication engineers etc. earning up to $2500/month. Dubai is the land of opportunity for highly professional filipinos. and I am proud to be one of them, being in the “city of gold & shopping hub” we are quite fashionable, we know how to express ourselves, and most importantly we behave decently when flying (Emirates).
This only proves how Malu is just fabricating her deceptive writings, it has no basis of reality, the joe malone, louis vuiton and the diva like lifestyle.
But don’t be surprise one day she’ll make millions by being famous at the expense of degrading us all OFW.
LETS FOCUS ON OUR LIVES AND NOT MIND HER>>> WASTE

August 18 – I got an email from my colleague containing the article of this Malu Fernandez. Sino ba ‘tong baboy na ‘to? Bagay sa kanyang tawaging baboy kasi baboy na nga ang katawan, baboy pa ang ugali. Malu my dear, you’re not the only person who owns Louis Vitton, who wears Jo Malone and travels a lot. Hindi lang yan ang pwede naming bilhin at gawin ok? If you’re thinking that OFWs here in the middle east are earning less, well, nagkakamali ka! Talagang low profile lang kami! Kaya pwede ba wag kang mag-inarte kasi NAKAKASUKA!!!! Mag-isip isip ka na Malu! Sa ibat-ibang sulok ng mundo may OFW. Malay mo, while walking along the countries that you’re exploring, may biglang sasakal sayo o di kaya may biglang maghagis ng asido sa mukha mo? Lahat sila mawawala sayo at palutang-lutang sa dagat…..Oh Malu, that would be a wonderful sight for me “OFW of Qatar”! Fabulous!!!!! Maiiyak ako sa tawa. Imagine naging SALBABIDA ka huli…..LOSER!!!!
re:axe and anu ung isang cologne? Charlie ba un. haha!
Those brands should sue Malu! Anyone knows on the emails or contacts of those brands ..let us inform them. She’s destroying the brand’s name you know!
She’s not even CONSISTENT. No one probably noticed her writing with this initial piece and went on to INVENT and tried to be funny (NOT) on the next.

Also, everyone BOYCOTT LUSCIOUS store/s as she owns it. Make her eat humble pie!
Her namedropping (Rustan’s scions) is embarrassingly ridiculous. SHE IS NOT A DIVA, She’s a cow, a social climbing wannabee cow!
P.S. Don’t forget to bombard complaints & boycott The Philippine Star, Manila Standard, Asia Magazine.
Write to the three Companies for thier help to pull out thier adverstisement from the said publication: UNLIEVER Philippines, REVLON.
UNTIL SHE & THOSE PUBLICATIONS APOLOGIZE PROPERLY!!!
Malu forgets that ONLY the OFW remittances are maintaining the peso vs. dollar value in our agricultural economy. If a man has to suffer that much to make money, he’s down. And you don’t kick a man when he’s down.
Those born with a silver spoon grow up in private sectarian schools where the nuns and priests teach behavior, tact and poise. When they grow up they do not openly make undiplomatic snob comments (unless bakla). Socially the really rich avoid discussing their status because they are all into tax shelters and fear of holdups, kidnapping, swindling etc. They grow up with staff and househelp (lower class people they relate to and love).
The rich who work in family enterprises know they would lose their wealth and lifestyle without the sweat of laborers, so they seldom disparage these people. In the Philippines most rich people underpay employees and they have this hidden guilt which they cover up with tax-shelter donations to the poor for show. Why would they rock the boat with comments angering the proletariat?
You can tell people are poor or newly rich by their loud over-the-top efforts to appear upper-class. The old rich may feel contempt for poor people but they know better than to antagonize these poor — it’s better to use the poor to get richer.
This is in response to the input of She on August 22nd, 2007 explaining that most Pinoys in Dubai are not domestic helpers, as presumed by Malu “Oink Oink” Fernandez.
With due respect, I must say fine, if that is the case. Maling-mali si Malu.
Without accusing She of anything dahil hindi ko naman alam ang nasa isip niya, I realize that it does not matter at all kung yung ininsulto ni Oink Oink ay professional o domestic helper. Tao yang nagsisikap at kapwa Pilipino. It is always a temptation for many to classify OFWs into professionals or domestics and many do so in a condescending way. Huwag naman, kasi pare-pareho silang PILIPINO at tumutulong sa ikauunlad ng bayan. If we’re not careful, little Malu Fernandez’es will grow in each one of us.
“She,” vibes tayo ha!
Malu Fernandez was beyond being nasty in her comments regarding the OFWs. She was very CRUEL!!! I myself have take Emirates on a recent trip to Europe last July. The flight was Manila-Dubai-Rome. I clearly remember taking note of how decent and well-mannered the OFWs were on that flight. I even told my mom how nice they were to us. Yes, they were mostly OFWs on that flight but they knew how to act and behave.
To Emirates’ credit, they were the BEST ECONOMY seats by far. They had the best inflight food and entertainment. I travel several times a year usually on economy with different airlines. I have flown biz class only a couple of times. In Dubai and elsewhere in Europe, my family and I would stop to actually chat with fellow Filipinos working as waiters, gelato makers, cooks, room boys, etc. They were very warm and accommodating. They actually won our admiration!! A Pinoy McDo crew even gave me a free large drink at the Dubai airport and I will never forget that act of kindness. It angers me that shortly after that wonderful experience, here comes Malu Fernandez lambasting our nation’s heroes like they do not deserve to be on the face of the earth because they don’t smell right. OFWs are practically saving the economy. They work hard to make a decent living to save their families from poverty. They deserve RESPECT and HONOR. Making fun of them is downright cruel and shows poor breeding and class.
So what if they don’t smell as good? So what if they are noisy or obnoxious? So what if the seats are cramped? So what if they happen to be OFWs and not sosyal tourists or executives? What’s the big deal, Malu? You are lucky that you are not on the other side of the fence where the have-nots are. O by the way, the OFWs are not “have-nots”. They have and live a decent life. E ANG BABOY, KAHIT DAMITAN MO NG GINTO, BABOY PA RIN
ISANG PANAWAGAN SA AKING MGA KAPWA PILIPINO AT OFWs:
BOYCOTT LUSCIOUS!
BOYCOTT MANILA STANDARD!
it’s time to put some teeth in our vehemence and distaste!
let’s show this Malu Fernandez that we, the OFWs, deserve all the respect as WE are the ones keeping this country afloat!

I happen to read an article about this malu fernandez and I was intrigue about it that it lead me to this website. It is hard to believe she is discriminating the OFWs. Kahit ano man ang trabaho overseas, we are proud of what we do. I am a physical therapist based in New York, I immigrated many years ago. And in our recent trips to the Philippines, we had been in flights with the airport hub in Taiwan and Seoul. I sat side by side with the OFWs, never in my mind did I criticized them because of who they are. What crossed my head is admiration to these young Filipinos for their courage to leave their loved ones home to seek greener pasture. I will end my comment with these words for malu: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY TO SOMEBODY, DO NOT SAY IT (OR DO NOT PUT IT INTO WRITING).
MABUHAY ANG MGA OFWs SA BUONG MUNDO!
I just read Malu “oink oink” Fernandezs’ article. Being an OFW myself I was deeply insulted by her inane article and I felt it was my patriotic duty to add to the mountain of insults already heaped on her pathetic being.
Long ago I was taught that witting should either entertain or inform. Best, if it can do both. Her article was neither insightful nor funny. In fact it was a piece of trash who’s only use could be to wipe excrement from my anus after a satisfying session on the throne of power.
The great thing about democracy is that everyone has their say. She is of course free express her disdain for ofw’s just as we are free to lambaste her to ends of the earth. And lambaste her we can, again and again and again until she ceases to become a human being and becomes instead a caricature, immortalized in a corner of pop culture beside the villains of Jose Rizal’s Noli and Fili.
Freedom, is not free. It was purchased with the blood of the martyrs, and thus we can not use it so irresponsibly.
So for my closing statement: Death to the pig! put an apple in her mouth and a spit up her ass. Feast on her fleshhhhh!!!!
hahahahaha
I guess we learned something from Malu, somehow I realized.
it is only us, Filipinos who create such “terms” as OFWs, DH, Care givers.
British, Austalian, US, Canadian and other nationalities called themselves, EXPATS, AU PAIR, IMMIGRANTS etc. Thousands or probably million of British national work outside UK to have better opportunities abroad but they don’t regard themselves as British Overseas Workers or “BOW”. But of course they don’t choose to work as a housemaid.
It is a matter of choice and decision Phil govenrment should consider. Why other 3rd world countries like Thailand, Vietnam, etc etc.don’t let their people work as a housemaid (modern term for slave).
Malu issue will go on and on and on but the root of it all cannot be traced, is it us the “PEOPLE” of the phils.
How fast we reacted on Malu issue like a wild fire. Can you do the same to towards the gov’t. i:e prez???
The pig’s article really ruined my night. What a moron. Malu I hope you get to read this. I used to be an OFW and I know how it is to live with our fellow Filipinos who work hard to make it in this world.
I am disappointed with this article that you wrote. You probably think you’re cute and feel so proud of yourself that your fat face is in the pages of a society magazine. Unfortunately I don’t have any advice for an idiot like you. If I do see you around in my many travels around the world, I won’t forget to greet you with a loud “Oink Oink! How baboy the pig!”
For the record, I wear Axe (and Rexona too). You’re such a moron.
hey guys this is one of malu’s (a.k.a. miss piggy) column … Just to show what kind of pig thinking she has and how T. H .she is to be a socialite. BURN THE PIG !!!!! But dont eat the meat she has FMD
…… Boycott …. Peoples Asia …. MABUHAY OFW….
What happens when you take a bona fide fashionista city girl to the beach, on an island far from the cement jungles of shopping malls and department stores? She takes two weeks worth of clothing for a four-day vacation.
A couple of weeks ago my fabulous friends Crickette and Donnie Tantoco, Maricris Alvarez and I headed to Boracay for a much-needed vacation. Never having been to Boracay myself, I was dreading the inconvenience of having to go through the domestic airport with a giant duffle bag as I was forewarned not to take any Louis Vuitton luggage or the boatmen will give me a nasty snarl. So I had to plan my outfits at least one week ahead. Meanwhile my stylish friend Maricris had bought out the whole Itsie Bitsie Boutique of Ines Delagado Prieto with fantastic cover-ups by TC Alvarez and several other high-end brands only available in Itsie Bitsie like Vix, Melissa Odabash, Ondemar and Lenny from Brazil. And of course Rustan’s girl Crickette was decked out in Tiger Lilly, Wahine and Hindy Tantoco’s Culte Femme. Not to be outdone I had brought out all the resort wear from my own luscious label and items I had bought abroad—too bad plus sizes don’t come in designer labels…
Basically we all had a fabulous resort theme inspired by some of the Mediterranean looks. Not only did we plan our resort wear but also our skin care, which played a big role in this trip. Coming from three generations of dermatologists I had to be armed with major SPF and anti-UVA products. The most fabulous one I tried was La Prarie Cellullar Anti- wrinkle Sun Cream with an SPF of 50 and the Shu Uemura face sunblock with SPF 50 as well. But for those of you on a budget, you can use Nivea face protector with SPF 30 or Sunbabies of Coppertone. They work just as well. After hitting the beach to even out the tan, I have been slathering on this wonderful new product of Shiseido called Daily Bronze Emulsion, which helps you keep your tan by giving you a gradual fake tan on top of your natural color, less the sun damage.
with regards to this article, though OFWs act the way they did inside the plane Ms.Fernandez still doesn’t have the right to discriminate them. saying that she would rather slash her wrist rather than be stuck in a plane full of OFWs is down right discriminatory. When i was asked to read this article in class i thought that Ms.Fernandez had wrotesoemthing about the Philippines particularyly Boracay to promote our countries tourism, but after reading it i was shocked to find out that a Filipino wouldwrite something like this to insult her fellow Filipinos whosejob is not ashigh paying as hers. Also saying that she would keep her head up tonot ruin her make up and hold her accessory bag up high so that itwon’tget wet in case the plane crashes on the sea makes her a materialistic premadonna whose only concernis looking beautiful. For me i think Ms.Fernandezmadethe right decision to resign in Manila Standards and People Asia because if your onlypurpose of writing about Filipinos is totrash talk themthenmight as well stab them at the back ifthey are not uptoyour standards. I feel sorry forthe OFWs especially the ones in Dubia because they werethe oneswhowerehardly hit by this article written by a person who doesn’t think before she acts. On her part i’am the one who wants to say sorry though i had nothing to do with this article. This comment is from a student who wants to reach out and say that wherever a Filipino may be whatever profession he has he still has the right to be respected by anyone s/he encounters despite his/her status in life..@};–
but there’s one thing i really want to know where did Ms.Malu Fernandez study to become this type of columnist.
[and forthose who are commenting aboutthis article though we or i want to say curses to her and call her names we should still give respect to her because she is still human and that no one isperfect here on earth. So please if you guys don't mind stop the name callings like misspiggy or balyena.Give respect.]
PARANG GAGO SI MALU NO?
malu fernandez… kaya nya binandera ang gamit nyang mamahaling pabango para matakpan ang mabaho na amoy burak nyang pag-uugali,,,, ganun lang po un…
MS. JOZELLENE YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT, WE SHOULD RESPECT HER, WE SHOULD GIVE RESPECT TO THE ANIMALS! WE CANNOT EXPECT ANYTHING FROM A DOG OTHER THAN TO BARK! BUT DOGS ARE MAN’S BEST FRIEND! BUT SHE IS LIKE A PIG WHERE ALL THE EVIL SPIRITS RESIDES! I DO NOT JUDGE HER, BUT THE WAY SHE TALKS YOU CAN SEE HOW EVIL HER HEART IS! BECAUSE WHATEVER WORDS COMING OUT FROM OUR MOUTH, IT IS COMING FROM OUR INNER BEING, FROM OUR HEART… SO IF THE WORDS ARE EVIL THE HEART IS EVIL AS WELL!
To: Josellene, Just for your info.,there are quite a lot of OFW’s earning way better than Malu Fernadez, who can well afford expensive perfumes and can fly on business class or even first class of Emirates or any other Airlines.
However, I agree with your appeal to stop cursing and calling her names the fact that it’s not helping to solve the issue. It’s merely our way of expressing anger and dissapointment against her discriminatory comments.
Acerbic wit daw, kung gusto nya ng acerbic wit eh mas nakakatawa itong nakita ko na image niya – http://www.cafepress.com/pirata.165819601
imagine yourself controlling the rates of your remittances. can we do that? i am not a good writer as malou fernandez but please bear with my writing and read it to the end. i am an ofw working in japan, it’s quite annoying listening from the news, bragging the high peso value. as a filipino, of course i should be proud, BUT, have you heard any news that benefit filipino people including our family in the philippines? NO! in fact, their is a pending proposal of a fare hike! 2nd, price increase of sugar, 3rd, neverending price increase of gasoline which follows all other consumer products. i thought mrs gloria arroyo is an economist? high peso value, expensive consumer products…is this what economy thought by the school she studied abroad? or she just misundertood the meaning, “english kasi”.
Now, here’s my plan, which will raise remittances’ market value. don’t you want that? NO! it is what we NEED! the peso value mainly depends on our remittances, of course their are other sources but we contribute the biggest percentage. they said that makati business men control the rates, but we say, from now on, WE DECIDE!
i propose, november 26 – december 3 2007, STRICTLY NO REMITTANCE WEEK, we’ll call this the NEW HERO’S WEEK!within 1 week without our remittance, the peso value will drop, which will create higher market value of our remittances, dollar or yen, don’t get excited by remitting it when you have seen the rates gradually increase, we will remit it on december 4, by bulk! yeah! hey what’s the difference? either the peso value increase or decrease, nothing happens in our country, only those who seated in malacanang can eat fried chicken without worrying what will they eat the next day. if only few of us will cooperate, nothin happens. i urge those doctors, nurses who were insulted by teri hatcher to join, i know you won’t let those insults starve you’re family in the philippines. i know how we OFWs made Malou Fernadez fired! i know. deep inside, a warrior within ourselves is just waiting to be pushed, but you might ask, WHAT CAN I DO? join this movement, convey this message to every OFW you know all over the WORLD! Do what is agreed!
Hey guys! Join the group which I created in the net, filipino_ofw_warrior_within@yahoogroups.com. we will post any suggestions you think, and vote, and whichever is agreed, we must do, we must be united to be strong, strong enough to control our rates. we will know each member by codenames not by true names. these names will move the seats of those who seated, blinding themselves with money which they got from us. IT IS TIME!Doctors, Nurses, Engineers, CareGivers, DH, etc from US, Dubai, Canada, Australia , New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, China, Germany, Saudi Arabia and all other countries where our brother OFW is working very hard, UNITE! Don’t ever think that our government are true to the concern they are giving us, they are just concerned with their names to be broadcast in preparation for the coming election this coming year 2010! and are concerned wih their pockets funded by our own money which we worked hardly for our family we long everyday, to be with us someday. It is our call Filipino OFWs, let us proudly say, THIS IS OUR MONEY, WE WILL DECIDE!
Malu,
I am a disabled 29-yearUSAF Veteran who recently arrived from the US to live permanently in the Philippines. I am very disheartened by your People Asia Article. I traveled alone from Albuquerque, New México and met many Filipinos enroute to Manila, some of whom were OFWs. I applaud them for their kindness assisting me through my transit. Indeed, they were spirited because they were returning home to see friends and relatives.
Your article is seditious and does not delegate you to diva status; it only shows your perceived humility led you to write a scathing not acerbic attack on OFWs.
Finally, “whoever humbles himself will be exaltedâ€. Please do not relegate OFWs

I know this comment of mine is too late as I do not read Philippine Newpapers and don’t have TFC or any other Filipino channels at home as my husband don’t understand the language. I was in the Philippines last month for 3 weeks and the office manager/partner of my business in Manila told me about this ridiculous and complete bigotry statement of Malu Fernandez though I must admit I have not red her write up. But very much eager to say my comment on whatever she wrote, and these are my comments:
• It’s because you want to be recognized as a celberity which you don’t even qualify doesn’t mean you can discriminate your compatriots abroad….. Actually I am embarrassed to call you compatriot (idiot).
• If you think you have a job in the Philippines for the Filipinos working abroad because you think you are rich – why don’t you give them a job so they don’t have to make sacrifices and leave their families behind.
• One thing you should remember (if you have brain) – if the government appreciate the huge contribution of overseas workers to the foreign exchange revenue, why can’t you?
• Before you make a negative comment about others, look at yourself first if you are any better than anyone. If you think you are, then you should be in a different planet where you are well suited…. Probably planet of the APES???
• Even if you are a celebrity – who give a damn about you. I saw and met a lot Hollywood celebrities in Dubai due to the nature of my Job. Even met the FAA Administrator from US Government and assisted a lot Government dignitaries during their visit to Dubai Airport. Not to mention a lot of high profile personnel of TV/Magazine companies like CNN, CNBC, Conde Nast, National Geographic, USA Today, etc etc. If you don’t want to believe I don’t care but I can send you some photos of those Hollywood celebrities to make you feel more insecure because your attitude is all about insecurities.
• Those housemaids and cheap Filipino Overseas Workers you are talking about are decent and have dignity in life, the fact that they are working hard to support the family is a proof of hardwork and dedication to their family.
