Streetchild: The Smile

Life will pass you by, and life you will not know.
Keep your hope, this is a virtue.
keep your faith, this will nourish you.
keep your love, darkness will not go near it..
My dear child, I am your friend today.
But tomorrow, I see you never again…
Fear not this land, for it has done the worst…
And you still stand..
Your friend is chance…
I hope you have it someday…

This poem reminds me of this one child who I’ve encountered at PGH during one of my charitable events… I’m a children’s party host and Balloon twister, This one child was asking for a balloon from me and even before I handed him a balloon I asked his mom what was wrong with him, (i had to ask what his illness is so I could gage if the foundation who i was with could know in what means we could help the child) The mother said he has aa huge tumor in his tummy and its is already in stage 4, super thin and yet his tummy is so huge, its like seeing those ads about malnourish children. I gave him an additional balloon, and he gave me this huge genuine smile which could melt your heart instantly, I had to add a few more balloons to his now enormous balloon hat.
Despite his pain and lack of energy, I will never forget that Beautiful smile of an true angel. I pray that his agony be short, his heart is too beautiful to go through a long painful process.

ergo..
despite his pain and lack of energy, he still manage to give me this smile to show his delight, I will never forget that beautiful smile of a true angel. i pray…..
(you know those days when your brain speaks so fast that you tend to skip the stuff you are typing… just call it senior moments hahahaha!!)
