Who Will Get The Blue Ribbon Committee Chairmanship?

Joker And Ping For Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman

Even before the proclamation of the 10 senators last night, there was already some shuffling and angling going on as to who would get the presidency and who would head certain committees. One of those contested committees is the Blue Ribbon Committee, of which Joker Arroyo is the current chairman.

But in stride with Lacson’s commitment for accountability in public office, this is the main reason he will most likely pursue the chairmanship for the Blue Ribbon Committee.

In a current report by Inquirer,

Told that Malacañang seemed afraid of his taking over the committee, the former National Police chief said: “Matatakot lang yung maraming kasalanan [Only those who are guilty are afraid]. I will just exercise my duty.”

As of now, we won’t know for sure, but I’m already thinking of a few officials who should be worried, especially if Trillanes and Lacson push ahead with their platform of clean governance.

Will we finally see the prosecution of any Pidals? Will we finally see an end to selective justice, but instead finally see justice? The blue ribbon committee is very important, and I hope that whoever gets the chairmanship will go after anyone and everyone, irrespective of political affiliation.

eh, hindi naman deserving si Ping for the blue ribbon committee, I don’t trust the guy very much. I think Joker should keep the chairman position. If there is one person i have to choose, then Joker will be it.

  2. ya i agree with you. i dont trust ping too. I bet for Arroyo

  3. I am weary of both of these guys. Arroyo has been allied with Gloria, thus he may not be able to reach in the direction of Gloria or her allies. Ping has had his own stints of anomalies in terms of the law. What about Trillanes as a third candidate for the blue ribbon committee?

  4. A third alternative would be nice. Joker as we all know cut short the Pidal investigation that could have finally expose who really owns the Hypovereins account. He now blames the accusers of not signing the subpoena to open the Pidal account. Isn’t the chairman of the Blue Ribbon do that? He is the most senior.

Trillanes is a good choice. I now wonder why Chiz is backing down from taking the impeachment seriously. Accountability is paramount, so what if he would be a judge? His previous acts in congress has already exposed his intentions.

Gloria had issued EOs to prevent her officials from testifying. The Supreme Court will be very this year, that I am sure.

  5. I would go for Ping Lacson. I do believe that he’s shown much more consistency in the last 6 years than this Joker Gloria Arroyo clone.

The fact that Ping Lacson has also done away with his pork barrel suggests that he is there to work and not to fiddle with funds.

  6. I believe Ping may just end up beating Arroyo for this spot. I can’t see Trillanes in this chairmanship position, only because of his situation with regards to his detainment. I think he’ll definitely be a member of the committee, but as of this point it looks like Lacson may have the more leeway and political experience for the job.

I’m very much weary of the politics that Joker may pull, and in the end, technicalities will hinder the public from knowing the truth.

For certain, the members must include: Allan Cayetano, Lacson, and Trillanes.

I’m not sure as to the limits of how many members, including the chairman, can make up the Blue Ribbon Committee. But the three I mentioned should definitely be in there considering their platforms that they ran on.

  7. @Schumey,

it looks like everyone is backing away from Impeachment. I think the only Senator that is taking it seriously is Trillanes. He’s 100% dedicated to removing Gloria. That was his platform, and that’s why the people voted for him, so he should definitely exercise the will of the people.
