The End Of The Karl Rove Era

Karl Rove, the Architect of the 2000, 2002, and 2004 Republican win in Congress, Senate, and the Executive office was supposed to be the man who would make The Republican Party the majority for years to come. After the 2000 and 2002 win, many Republicans were already preparing for a new era of Republican ruled majority which would last at least 30 years.

I guess, one can dream, because all hoopla surrounding Karl Rove died down as soon as The Republicans lost the majority in last year’s November Election.

What does this mean? It means that the man who was behind most of the political strategy will no longer be at the helm. Many will try to pinpoint the reason, but as it has become almost too obvious, and I think that historians will judge the failure of George Bush and Karl Rove to build a lasting Republican Majority was due to the mixing of policies and politics, and of course The IRAQ WAR.

The greatest man can lead a party, but if that party is made up of a leader who lies to the public, the same way George W. Bush has, then there is only so much that person can do.

The team from Texas is no more. And George Bush is left with only a few close allies by his side. The many allegations of corruption, overstepping of Executive powers, and the mishandling of the Iraq War will paint a Bush Administration with no real lasting legacy except that of the War itself.

The era of Karl Rove will be tied with The Bush Administration. And that is a sad fact, considering that he probably was one of the greatest political minds of our day. Anybody else, and Bush would certainly have lost both 2000 and 2004 elections.
