The 8 judges who made the difference

Thank goodness for people who actually know what justice means. Thank goodness for people who wake up with service of the Filipino in mind. And thank goodness for those 8 judges who actually had the guts to make that judgement yesterday. Again, I must remind you, The Supreme Court of the Philippines decided the other day to deny the petition of the “Lambino Group” for Charter Change.Philippine Supreme Court Seal

Think about it. Having Malacanang breath on your neck. Knowing that by basically voting against Charter change, you would have to face the wrath of the current Administration.

I applaud those 8 judges.. This is the true meaning of Check and Balance. This is why this system works. We have the Judiciary, Legislative, and Administrative branches of Government. No one branch can hold total control. Anyway, I know it wasn’t easy. But if you focus on justice, this is exactly what you would have done also.

And what about those 7 other judges? What were they thinking! Do they honestly think that the signature of 100,000 individuals count as the voice of the people?

That’s right 100,000 not 6 million signatures as the Lambino Group would have you believe. Frankly, it’s a disgrace for those dissenting judges to have turned the other way on this decision.

And Malacanang hasn’t finished it’s attempt on Charter Change. Again, Arroyo only has to pressure 1 more judge. She does have a little time left, but the 2007 elections are coming fast.

By the way. Who were the Judges that voted for and against the petition for Charter Change?
