Tessie And Tito On The Move

Tito SottoYet another of thousands of examples that are testament to the fact that party affiliation is nothing but a name here in The Philippines. It’s been hovering around like an annoying fly in the past few days, but rumors are still buzzing, and is probably going to be confirmed in a few days that Tessie Aquino-Oreta and Tito Sotto are planning to flee to the Administration’s side. Now, we did learn that within 7 days the Administration’s party will divulge 5 members of its Senate slate, and the rest will be announced by February 12. So, you can probably count on it that Tessie and Tito will be on the slate soon. Watch it, it’s coming to a theater near you!

Let’s see who else is on the move… Richard Gomez, yes that’s right, we all knew he was swinging that way anyway.

I’m also liking the fact that Quezon (III) has listed three questions that he will ask when considering a candidate:

1. Which candidate would at least view impeachment with an open mind, or if with a closed one, then at least in favor of a more democratic attitude, which is, to impeach?

2. Which candidate would have an interest in defending the rights of the Senate (and the constituency it represents, the nation), in the face of hostility, and a lack of cooperation, from the executive?

3. Which candidate would be in a good position to derail any future mischief concerning the Constitution, specifically in terms of efforts to undermine it by either ignoring the Senate or foisting a grand deception like the so-called “people’s initiative”?

Tessie

And, this rightly so. Just as the U.S. elections were a referendum on Iraq because it is the main issue facing the U.S., I really think that the main issue facing our country is the push towards Charter Change and all the evils that go along with this administration handling that change.

Indeed this coming election in The Philippines is going to be a referendum. A referendum on Charter Change and on this Administration. Vote accordingly to these things, because the course of our nation will dramatically change if the Administration and its party take hold of our government.
