SONA 2007: Unity Sans Trillanes?

Apparently as Gloria Macapagal Arroyo gets ready for her State of The Nation Address (SONA), the Makati Regional Trial Court is yet to act upon giving Senator Antonio Trillanes approval to attend the SONA. So as Gloria Arroyo will again call for unity within the nation, this is only so if you agree and support her.

But unity in the name of President Arroyo’s hidden agenda, certainly does not include Senator Antonio Trillanes, even though 11 million Filipinos voted for him.

The Department of Justice also opposes Trillanes’ request to attend Senate hearings, and even this event such as the SONA will not stop them from blocking Trillanes’ attendance to any meaningful and historical political events.

So, when you hear The President, later today, declaring a need for unity, let’s just say, she isn’t talking about everyone.

  1. The call for unity has been there since Cory’s time. Are we going to tell Trillanes to do a push up for his crime? Sobra na, tama na! Let’s go to business please.

  2. @Rob, that was a very brief comment, but you hit it right on the nail. Who needs to hear more talk, when we need action, and to see these promises actually be accomplished. Either convict Trillanes or let him go, don’t let this be another Erap style of justice where the decision is prolonged up to eternity..
