Obama Sweeps Clinton Weeps

Barack Obama now leads in states won, voter percentage, and the delegate count. And in case we could measure momentum, he definitely is leading in that category too. I’d like to concentrate on the Democratic side of the race in this article, only because it seems pretty clear that Senator McCain has the Republican Nomination all but locked up.

It’s the democratic race that is getting interesting. With two top level officials recently leaving the Clinton campaign, the shakeup is no doubt a result of the eight state sweep that Barack Obama has just racked up.

In case you haven’t been keeping track, here’s how Obama got to his 8 state winning streak.

Hillary Clinton is pinning her hopes on the upcoming Primaries on March 3. Ohio and Texas are the big states to win. Obama may be racking up the states now, but if he can win even one out of the two big states in Ohio or Texas, then he may just pull off the nomination. At stake is 161 delegates for Ohio and 228 delegates for Texas.

Here’s the recent delegate count:

But recent polls still show Hillary Clinton leading in these two states. Still, it’s a long time until March 3, and if Hillary isn’t careful she may just pull a Giuliani and be erased from the minds of voters as Obama keeps the spotlight on himself.
