Handing The Presidency To McCain
I’m not a fan of John McCain, not only because he wants to stay in Iraq for another 100 years, or that he will certainly continue the failing Bush policies, but because he might actually win The Presidency if The Democrats don’t get their act together. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will continue to battle it out, and we can’t blame them for fighting it out, they want the prize. It’s the Super Delegates, they better start sorting this stuff out, real quick.
I was excited about a longer Democratic battle for the nomination, but this is taking too long. I could live with both candidates, but apparently, many Democratic voters, as this contest drags on longer, are not taking this approach. If their candidate loses, they may vote Republican, which means handing McCain The Presidency.
McCain doesn’t deserve it. And The Democratic Party, headed by Howard Dean, better realize, that the contest that they should win, is no longer a sure win. If the elections were held today, McCain would win. So better bite the bullet, have all the Super Delegates decide sooner rather than later, and give McCain an actual fight.
There are political pundits who think that this is good for the Democratic Party. I used to think this, because it means more registered voters, and more of the limelight.
But what good are new registered voters, if in the end, there will be voters who feel disenfranchised and cheated that their candidate did not get their chance to make history. Black voters could jump to McCain if Hillary wins, and The Women vote especially the older women vote could jump to McCain if Hillary Loses. Either way, I think this is bad for The Democrats.
I have this gut feeling, that if this lasts another month, that we may as well have McCain’s inauguration in May.
