Gloria-fy The Candidates

GloriaThe Administration candidates will certainly have it hard this upcoming election season. But, their only strategy is to distance themselves from Gloria herself. It will be a balancing act worthy of recognition if they can pull it off. On one side they have to support the Administration, on the other end they have to seem independent without risking the wrath of Gloria herself.

The Opposition candidates won’t have the machinery that the Administration has, especially in the local elections, but one thing they also don’t have is a ball and chain in Gloria.

If I were the opposition, I would force the issue to be of one thing, and that is a referendum on the Arroyo Administration. Every time they speak of an opposition candidate, they have to connect that candidate with Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. They need, in a sense, to Gloria-fy the candidate.

A scenario worth thinking about. Pictures of Administration candidates side by side with Arroyo.

On the side of the administration, they will be talking up economics, moving our nation forward, the rosy atmosphere of our government, the unity of their candidates, and all the positive spin they can muster up.

But, each and every chance the opposition gets, they should always put the focus on the ties between the candidates and Gloria.

The Administration Candidates need to focus on their platforms, and the following words, “We have to move on, and be UNITED”, “in order for our nation to also move on and prosper”… Easier said than done? Well, we shall see in the coming weeks where exactly the campaign are headed.

But, let’s not forget the main point of this article. Those who are in charge of the opposition campaigns… say it with me now… GLORIA-fy and you will win.

  1. Nick,

Team Unity’s first sortie is at the Red Cross. They reportedly donated blood. My God, now they intend to spread the fake one’s virus and infect every Filipino with her lying, cheating, stealing and killing.

  2. What’s the story, morning Glory-a?

Strategies and tactics are for spin doctors. That’s what they’re paid to do. And politics, by our own experience, has been a deluge of muckraking.

Remember George Smathers and Claude Pepper? Now that’s the way to do it. Haha.

  3. Schumey, Let the all out publicity war begin… I didn’t hear about this though, but the blood of the weak and corrupt will not pervade and breakout into an epidemic..

  4. Alex, Yes. George Smathers was a politician for the ages.

I just hope that mainstream media won’t get caught up in the spin as well…

Smathers vs. Peppers in the democratic primaries, a very funny campaign, and definitely an excellent and simple one at that. Just blast the other for supporting communism…

Indeed, the opposition right now can play on the same tactics as well..
