Bush Does Not Know What “Political Solution” Means
In recent weeks there have been escalations in anti war rallies, but I’m not really going to talk about that right now. What I want is to convey the fact that without diplomacy there can be no peace. The current troop surge in Iraq is clearly not a new strategy even though the Bush Administration are trying to spin it in that direction. This is the 4th troop surge, and in the past, the troop surge has only succeeded in the short term. As soon as the American troops go back to normal levels, the insurgents will be back.
The Bush Administration would also like to put the idea that Al Qaeda is behind most of the attacks, when in fact, civil strife is the main cause of all the violence that is taking place in Iraq.
The Democratic party in The United States are planning what neo conservatives are trying to tag as a slow bleed. But, I look at it as the check and balance that the previous Congress never implemented. Clearly, Congress should never micromanage a war, but The Bush Administration is lacking in the “political solution” arena, and it’s Congress that has to send a message to the Iraq government that it’s high time they took control.
