Bribery During The Elections

Ellen writes of recent reports of bribery offered to Trillanes.

Detained Navy Lt. SG Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes was recently offered campaign funds amounting to P4 million by a known jueteng lord. Despite meager funds, certainly not enough to finance a full-blown TV ad campaign, the senatorial candidate of GO refused the offer. (via)

My response:

The truth of mans actions will never be known to all, nor will all of his actions be seen as well…

All we can do is decide for ourselves, by searching our conscience, looking at past actions, looking at their present actions, and observe the contradictions that is inevitable…

Trillanes may gain a second chance from me. Angara, shouldn’t even be considered…

Bribery, in forms of under the table dealings is not a surprise… But, the bribery that occurs in forms of recently painted schools and buildings, the renovation of bridges and roads, the wonderful gifts of food and housing is too obvious to even stomach… These programs belong to the Filipino people, not only in times of elections.

To be given during election season is a mockery of the voting public..

  1. I think bribery during the elections are so rampant, that it has become a norm in our society. It’s sad, but it’s our society. We need to change it.
