Where Is Lintang Bedol?
Make no mistake, Lintang Bedol is just part, a small part, of the problem. But either way, he still deserves the full arm of the law. If Comelec was even close to being serious about prosecuting and investigating those who were responsible for the blunder of the Maguindanao Elections, then they would have had Bedol behind bars weeks ago. The words of The Comelec fall on deaf ears, because they have chosen to railroad the democratic will of the people time and time again.
So, will Lintang Bedol surface today? I don’t think so.
Will Lintang Bedol pull off a second version of the Garci disappearance? It seems to be so.
No matter what happens in the coming weeks, I will tell you one thing. Something that I’ve been harping from the beginning, ever since the anomalies coming from Maguindanao came to light. And that is that no one will be prosecuted, and the hard evidence of cheating will never be proven, just because we are dealing with the whole system, and we can’t expect a corrupt system to investigate itself.
Poor Koko Pimentel? Maybe, we should be saying, poor Maguindanao citizens. They have been bamboozled once again. And Bedol probably already has his payment for the poor work of cheating he managed to pull off in Maguindanao, all he needs now is a little bit more help from Comelec itself, to turn their heads and close their eyes.
Will Lintang Bedol give himself up? I don’t see why he shouldn’t. We could even have in possession, a videotape of Lintang Bedol saying that he headed the cheating in Maguindanao, but even that probably won’t be enough to prosecute him. It’ll probably end up with a ‘Hello Bedol’ type of scenario where the investigation will go nowhere once again.
Conclusion? Watch and wait, because nothing will happen to Lintang Bedol, if he becomes the fall guy, he just may testify and tell the whole world what he knows. And I am certain, Comelec, local Maguindanao officials, and maybe even part of this administration, doesn’t want that to happen.
