To the Sigma Rho alumni, those who would defend their fraternity, despite its role in the death of Cris Anthony Mendez. They too are responsible for the culture of violence that pervades fraternities. For they are the guardians who speak nothing but kind words, even during such times. Why should their members and officers stop the violence? There is no need, when obviously the Guardians have their support. From as high up as The Senate, they come either to defend, or stand in silence. It’s almost too sickening to bear, and yet they can do it with a straight face. They offer up no solutions, only excuses.

I would love each and everyone of these cowards to face the mother of Cris Anthony Mendez and tell to her face that Sigma Rho is not at fault. Let’s see the paddling that they get out of that statement.

And now, Sigma Rho itself is threatening to sue The UP Administration for suspending officers who may have been involved directly or indirectly in the death of Cris Anthony Mendez. Yes, no time to mourn Cris, because the sick and wicked are restless in having all those involved get away scot-free.

I’m fuming and saddened at the same time, that our leaders can show such disgusting attitudes towards violence, and yet they can run for office declaring that they are worthy to hold public office. And we wonder why such immoral acts of graft and corruption take place in government, when in a situation in which they can either choose to condemn or to defend. And they choose to defend. And sadly, because these cowards that we call leaders, chooses brotherhood over nation, they defend and offer up only more excuses. Some even mere silence.

So far, out of the many alumni, we have only Juan Ponce Enrile, willing to talk and condemn,

“I condemn the death of that poor fellow. I thought that my fraternity is of people who embrace the profession of law, instead of violating the law. It has become a trainer of thugs and killers”

“I am calling on them to initiate the effort to ferret out the people responsible and kick them out of the fraternity and if necessary kick them out of school”

But we also have to realize, that many “brods” of these Senators and Congressmen are also business associates and sources of campaign funds, which in my view, could be another reason why they would stay silent about the issue or offer excuses for Sigma Rho. What is even more disgraceful, is that they can’t even issue a statement of condolence to the family. Yes, my fellow Filipinos, these are the men who lead our country.

Brotherhood over Nation. Brotherhood over decency. Brotherhood over justice. This is the selfish organization known as Sigma Rho. “A Trainer of Thugs”

What Is Happening Behind The Scenes?

With the recent developments regarding the death of Cris Anthony Mendez, it makes me wonder, what is happening behind the scenes? Is there a move to cover-up what really happened on the Night of Sunday August 27th where Cris Anthony Mendez died a brutal death at the alleged hands of Sigma Rho officers? And what about the now infamous Dr. Francisco Cruz? The coward who, as fast as he came to the hospital with Cris’ dead body, also left with the same degree of swiftness. And what about the convoy of cars? And now the NBI is no longer willing to arrest Dr. Francisco Cruz?

Is Sigma Rho really this powerful? And is Sigma Rho really this evil?

Even going so far as threatening a lawsuit against UP for the preventive suspension of Sigma Rho officers. What is this organization all about?

There are too many questions, but what is clear as day is the way Sigma Rho, the officers, its alumni is handling the murder of Cris Anthony Mendez. They are simply focusing in protecting their own. I wonder what they have offered the family of Cris Anthony Mendez. Flowers, a small donation, condolences? From the looks of their defensive stand on this issue, probably nothing.

And so we go back to what is happening behind the scenes and as to why I believe that selfish motives and “brotherhood” are all behind the softening case of Cris Anthony Mendez. For the powerful are hypocrites who know nothing of compassion and humanity. And we wonder why our nation is so lagging behind, it is because of individuals such as these Fratmen, that put personalities above nation, and put brotherhood above life.

If there is no proper resolution to this case, and if justice is not served to all those involved, and if there is nothing to be done with regards to shutting down these organizations of violence, then wonder no longer as to why we may have another Cris Anthony Mendez in our near future.
