Trillanes Points To Government Officials For Basilan Ambush
In a Senate Resolution filed by Senator Antonio Trillanes on Tuesday, the Senator leveled against high ranking officials of this government the allegation that it was these officials who had a “direct hand in feeding our military to the enemies of the state” which led to ambush in Tipo Tipo, in which the Senator, in his resolution, described as a “senseless massacre”.
Let’s hand it to The Senator, for his words are never mixed, and his thoughts are always plain and blunt to the point. Indeed, it is this hard-hitting talk, that most-likely helped in garnering him the 11th spot in the recently concluded Midterm elections.
In the resolution itself, Senator Trillanes directs the “Committee On National Defense And Security to inquire and investigate the alleged direct knowledge and involvement of ranking government officials” in the Tipo Tipo ambush which lead to the killing of 14 marines, and the beheading of 10 of those marines.
This inquiry, as The Senator writes, would have to goal of “determining the culpability and liability” of these officials.
Senator Trillanes added that, “the government is supposed to protect and serve the interests of the people, to include it5 own military forces, and definifely not to have them senselessly massacred on purpose”
All of these allegations, including the fact that high ranking officials had a hand in the ambush, was made known to Senator Trillanes through “serious insider information”.

There’s been talk about this even before this resolution. Not as a fact, but just mere speculation and possibility. Although, it doesn’t surprise this blogger, that indeed, such an attempt by high ranking officials could be made, I also have to step back and take a deep breath and ask myself… is this for real?
It is becoming a trademark almost, for Senator Trillanes, to be so bold in his statements and allegations. But in fact, as I have observed, it is his statements that seem to reflect the same mindset and thinking that many Filipinos have. Considering that the initial investigations made by the joint military and MILF representatives have only yielded to the public a slow and increasingly narrower sets of suspects that are low level, I welcome an extra set of questions such as the ones raised in Senator Trillanes’ resolution.
It is in my view, that such a tremendous blunder in leadership, oversight, and preparedness also contributed to the Ambush at Tipo Tipo. Although, as I have said, we should also not lose sight of the perpetrators of those who actually did the killing of our soldiers and also the subsequent beheading of 10 of our soldiers.
Oversight, investigation, and more inquiries are needed. All parties involved who contributed to these deaths must be brought to justice.

The administration’s penchant for “staging” events is a clear indication that things are not what they seem. They will use everything and anything to justify succeeding actions. Remeber how Biazon also exposed the plan of some ISAFP men to conduct bombings in Manila? This was to prop up its anti-terror bill.
This administration is better at staging plays than governing.
@Schumey, indeed, I wouldn’t put it over this Administration to actually have made such heinous acts in order to further its own agenda. It is in my view, that Senator Trillanes’ statements have some merit, and I would be curious to see, what such an investigation would uncover. I am doubtful however, that it will actually lead to information, since all the departments and Armed Forces are still under Gloria’s command. But with the clear support of a silent majority within the Armed Forces itself for Senator Trillanes, I’m hoping that key officials and officers will shed more light on this Ambush.
A summary of the events related to the ambush slaying of the 14 Marines:
Maj. Gen. Ben Mohammad Dolorfino, who has been coordinating the rescue of kidnapped Italian priest Giancarlo Bossi, and who braggged Fr Bossi would be rescued within the day, has been prohibited from giving interviews or issuing updates to the media. Dolorfino’s spokesman, Lt. Garysunde Mamaludin, confirmed the gag order on the general in a text message. The location is Zamboanga Sibugay.
The 1st Marine Brigade is sent (by whom?) on a wild goose chase to TipoTipo Basilan to search for Fr Bossi. It is unclear if the mission task force was alerted to the MILF domain claim or given cakewalk operation orders. All media news reports (amid the military news blackout) does not indicate the size of the task force, the rank and battle experience of the TF commander, and why the 14 got isolated from the main force.
Curious, to say the least, is the coincidence that the massacred unit is the former command of Col. Querubin, court martialed for his withdrawal of support for Ate Glue. One might infer that decimating the unit reduces the potential backup of the officer.
Well, first and foremost we still do enjoy our freedom of expression in the Philippines and you are entitled to your own opinion and here is mine.
Who’s talking war? Trillanes? Have he got some wars in his ‘military career’? Other than protecting her mother’s business as supplier in the Dept of National defense and their twelve (12) vans businesses, I never heard of him being involve in armed confrontation with the enemy.
Neonate, cheap shot on linking the administration. Read the website of the CPP-NPA-NDF and you’ll find who’s using the issue to their own advantage!
