Lintang Bedol, Lilian Radam, and Yogie Martirizar “Missing”

As I wrote earlier this week, the focus date for this week was supposed to be Wednesday, this was the day that Provincial and Municipal election officers were to go in front of the National Board of Canvassers to explain the anomalies and discrepancies seen in the Maguindanao election. But as I assumed would happen, the counting would resume without any sort of investigation resulting from the proceedings.

But what I didn’t foresee was that the election officers would be so brazen enough as to not even show up. So right now, The Comelec has ordered the search for Chairman of the Provincial Board of Canvassers of S. Cotabato, N. Cotabato, and Maguindanao. The law department of the Comelec has also been ordered to investigate the three, and the three have also been put on the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID) watchlist.

The “missing” provincial poll supervisors were identified as lawyers Lintang Bedol of Maguindanao, Lilian Radam of South Cotabato and Yogie Martirizar of North Cotabato.

Despite the non-clarification of these provinces, and the no-show of these Provincial Officers, The Comelec Chairman has decided to still push ahead with a Maguindanao Re-canvass. Abalos has formed a new “Special” Provincial Board of Canvassers for Maguindanao so that the canvassing can begin. But, as we wrote yesterday, what are they going to canvass? No one has seen any of the election returns, municipal or provincial documents.

Abalos told the lawyers who complained of this move, to bring it up to the Special Provincial Board of Canvassers. I wonder what these “special” officers will decide to do? Will they proceed as if everything is alright, or will they actually investigate these anomalies?

While all of this is happening, we still have The Three Stooges “missing” or on the run from everyone. I wonder what their stupid excuse is going to be once they’re caught? “I’m sorry we weren’t able to appear before the public, we were sick”… Sounds like an excuse Sarmiento would give…

  1. In a Tribune report, NBC is said to be “mulling” filing charges against these three election terrorists.

With Abalos at the helm, we can only expect a repeat of the Garci affair. Garci disappeared for a while, then returned amidst a huge fanfare and applause from the gallery – they then made fun of the opposition members of the the House of Reps by lying through his teeth. These bandits form part of Gloria’s election cheating legacy.

I am under no illusion that these same people were part of the 2004 election cheating machinery of Gloria. They have become more brazen, more callous, banditry in broad daylight!
And to think that Abalos merely declared that they are “mulling” filing charges against them? What the heck!

Abalos, COMELEC, the entire election institution, Malacanang, AFP, PNP, warlords, politicians, candidates, their supporters – all of them, to me, are guilty of having failed democracy. Their presence in any election, this one and the next, will be tainted, suspect, non-credible. Might as well not have any elections!

Gloria, Abalos and their scalawags should step down and leave the nation be.

  2. Tell me about it.

Abalos threatens the networks and even the witnesses in the cheating..

but for these three, he simmers down a bit and just mulls it over.

    It is a joke. He’s a joke.

Hey guys, let’s not jump into conclusions. I’m all for investigating these anomalies, but let’s move for due process, before pointing fingers. As Jimenez said, there is no proof of their involvement in these discrepancies. For all we know, local politicians in Maguindanao and other provinces are behind all these things.

  4. Hi Nick,

Been snatching time to blog. I’ve been very busy lately and I’m leaving for some R&R. I linked your entry to my post. It seems like HNP still cannot see the light. Well, to each his own. Great post, bro.

  5. @HAP,

What due process? Comelec has done this over and over again. I’d love to tell you that you are wrong, but it’s clear to our readers already.

    @Schumey,

What can we do, HAP will have to learn for himself (or herself).. Yeah, I think we all need some R&R these days. This election is taking way too long.
