Social Media and Plurk Just Scooped Mainstream Media
While in preparation for an article, I just realized that Philippine mainstream media was just beat to the punch by Plurk as well as Twitter. As early as 10:06 this writer was informed that Eraserhead lead singer Ely Buendia was rushed to the hospital due to “emotional and physical stress”. At first, updates on Plurk was conflicting, it was either Ely or his brother who had to be rushed to the hospital. Inquirer.net did not get the story published until around 10:12 pm. GMANews.tv broke the story at around 10:08
Already, prayers are pouring in, a moment of silence was requested at the site of the concert.
