This week we saw just how far politics can go, and how angry a Mayor can get when challenged. Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña canceled the scheduled construction of a 20 classroom building in an elementary school in Barangay Lahug. Still angry, he will also cut the fuel allocation for trucks and the subsidy for garbage collectors in Barangay Lahug.

The reason for the overwhelming cuts and stops in projects is that the opponent of Mayor Tomas Osmeña in the elections was Lahug Barangay Captain Mary Ann De Los Santos, who he accuses of handing out leaflets saying that Osmeña has never given any projects to Lahug.

And because Mary Ann De Los Santos, refuses to apologize for her campaign, kiss ass to the Mayor, Tomas Osmeña has come out swinging.

But Tomas can make his arguments, show his proof, and act like a baby, but the fact that he will cancel projects after another all because of a political vendetta is not showing of a statesman. It’s another case of individuals who feel their power, and find it necessary to laud it over the heads of their political opponents. The arrogance is almost enough to make me throw up.

Damn it Mayor Tomas, if this is how you show your gratitude for winning the elections, then you shouldn’t have won in the first place. I have to admit, I don’t care much for De Los Santos, but there is politics and then there is education for the people you are supposed to serve. You need to separate the two.

Politicians like you make me sick. Promising all this crap during your campaign, and delivering political actions instead once you are in power. This is the kind of crap that makes me want to just slap some politicians in the face for the kind of nonsense and arrogance they display once they gain the votes. Your actions should never be based on the political actions done unto you during the campaigns, what the heck do you expect in an election, rosy words coming from your opponents?

A Challenge To Mayor Tomas:

Stop acting like the king of Cebu, but instead, act like a mayor. Your actions should always be geared to what is best for your City, and if you cannot understand that, despite your childish attitude, then you might as well step down, because we don’t need another arrogant and selfish mayor like you.
