Blog Appreciation: Quezon, Tordesillas, Buencamino

I will be doing a few blog reviews within the next two weeks or so. It will be as much for me, as it will be for you readers. It will become my homage to my fellow bloggers, without which, this blogging life would be severely lonely. Filipino Bloggers have forged a connection, and as such, I have found myself drawn to many blogs, and bloggers. To read the blogs, is like going through their minds, the treasures of their knowledge, and the treasures of their wisdom. (I think this is why old media, may still have to succumb to this phenomenon, if only to realize that new media represents so many thoughts, on so many issues)

Anyway, without further ado, here’s my first three reviews. And there’s an obvious theme too..

1. Manolo Quezon III, the columnist, blogger, tv host, etc., is the owner of Quezon.ph.

If there is anything that has not been said of Manolo and his talented ways, I think it is that with great talent comes a very big appetite for delicious food. (I only realized this just recently). I was drawn to Manolo’s blog at an early stage in my blogging career, only because it intrigued me that such a well known columnists, the grandson of a great president, was not afraid to try out this thing called blogging. The second thing I noticed, was that there in the wilderness of quezon.ph, dwell many commenters, of differing views.

But, mainly, I find myself constantly going to quezon.ph to read and be informed. Manolo is a historian, with a vast knowledge of things past. This knowledge gives him a perspective on the issues of the day, a perspective that many other bloggers do not have. His willingness to open the eyes of his readers by linking to other bloggers also with great insight, is the true magic of quezon.ph

His daily dose, in my opinion, is probably one of the biggest features in The Philippine political blogosphere. I know, I’m always anticipating it.

And because he has embraced the blogosphere, I believe this is also the reason, the blogosphere has embraced him. A man of humility, seemingly ordinary, yet with extraordinary powers of mind, he is a juggernaut in The Philippine blogsophere.

2. Ellen Tordesillas

Ellen Tordesillas has always been at the forefront of many national stories. She herself has become entangled within the story itself on quite a numerous times. She is a journalist that has no fear. Writing out of shear courage, I can sense this when she writes many of her stories.

Her blog has become the online rallying ground for the fight against tyranny in The Philippines. The grow

Why do I go to her blog? Because she is consistent in her stories. She writes about the government, she writes about the Magdalo group, she writes about injustices, she writes about the marginalized. And these are the important things, that I usually tend to gravitate towards anyway. And with Ellen Tordesillas, the stories are always fresh, right out of the oven.

3. Manuel Buencamino of Uniffors.com,

Life in Gloria’s Enchanted Kingdom, that is the subtitle for his blog. I think he has up there in the top 3, for Filipinos who hate Gloria the most. Not only have I gravitated towards Manuel’s blog, but I have enjoyed it immensely for reasons probably he wouldn’t have thought. It’s his silly little pictures.

Once you see a Buencamino picture of Gloria, Esperon, or whomever, you know that it was him who created it. It’s uniquely his own, and each one is always as entertaining as the previous.

He’s a passionate writer, opinionated, and that’s why he has a great following both offline and online. If you ever feel the need to read some fun commentary, thoughtful commentary, he’s the guy to go to. Uniffors.com, a diamond in the ruff, in an enchanted kingdom of course.
