Saving Filipino Children

No matter where your politics are, there is an article by Edgardo Angara, that is worth reading. Regarding the state of our 33 million Filipino children, and how 14 million of these children are considered poor.

Here’s Angara’s proposal:

In the Senate, I propose a mandatory health insurance program for the 14 million Filipino children of low-income families through the establishment of a Children’s Health Insurance Program or CHIP.

I’m not looking at the person who is saying this, but what I’m looking at is the message, and the message is correct and it should be made clear. Whether it may seem like a cliche, but our children are our future.

I support this program, and I hope there will be a move to make it into our national budget.

with the proposed CHIP, the country’s health services would now also cover children under 18 years of age, one of the most uninsured members of our population.
