SANA Walang SONA
Monday, July 23, 2007 — Mark the date on your calendars, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is going to give another State of The Nation Address. The SONA as most people will call it. But what do we expect really? For her to tell the truth, and give a vivid description on what is truly on the minds of the Filipino People? I don’t think so.
Because if the SONA would be credible, she would mention the inadequacies of her Human Rights record, her sinister plans to continue with her Cha Cha and reign supreme as Prime Minister, or maybe even let us know how the Macroeconomic factors aren’t translating to the bigger changes we need to help the millions of Filipino who are poverty stricken.
But what will she say? Most probably, she will highlight her continuing vigilance for better education (good textbooks anyone?). Fighting corruption (ASEAN LAMPPOST scandal). 6.9% growth (the poor are still poor). And maybe the Anti-terror bill, which is vague, has no implementing rules and regulations, and which most Armed Forces officers, don’t even know how to implement it, this includes the top brass.
Will she go on to say something about the recently concluded midterm elections? Will she mention Musa Dimasidsing, the man who died so that Daya Na Zubiri could take the 12th Senate Seat?
What will Gloria say? I guess, we’ll just have to wait. But let me tell you beforehand, don’t believe any word that comes out of her mouth. Not one word. She’s a tried and tested politician, with a husband to match, and doting heads of departments who willingly follow her commands even if it means sacrificing integrity.
So, I say,
SANA wala nalang SONA!

I value gratitude as a virtue, except when it is used to pay back political debts. Ate Glue will have another occasion to show her gratitude (but won’t be among her plans included in the SONA.)
My crystal ball is clearing the haze and starting to form a dreadful image – the vacancy in the Supreme Court is reserved for retiring Chairman Abalos.
I will next put the crystal ball on fast forward to view the deadly joke of Ate Glue running for representative in Congress, and the scenario of JDVs unicameral Parliament with Ate Glue as Prime Minister for Life. This ultimate trait is one I could not admire.
hopE PGMA would greatly grAnt all to what he had said last tym in her SONA… i hope she would have a great role and i hope that she could make many changes in our country… specially in her 6more years term in presidency…
i hope that all of the statements she had broke in her SONA would greatly implemented and i hopE PGMA will help us to make our country more improvement and more peaceful and well united…

tama ka jan.. sana wala na lang sona.. dahil kahit hindi namin napanood un dahil may pasok my assignment pa din tungkol dun.. kahit walang kwenta ung mga sinabi ni gloria puro papogi lang sa administrasyon.. sobrang dami ng mga hidden figures.. ung magaganda lng ang pinagsasabi nya.. she avoid certain issues.. annoying..
