Lintang Bedol Guilty Of Indirect Contempt! COMELEC Still Idiots!
Lintang Bedol has been found guilty of indirect contempt. He is to serve 6 months and pay a fine of P1,000. The result that was to be expected, has indeed occurred. With this weak sentence and small fine, the brazen idiots and cheats of The COMELEC have once again displayed to the Filipino people that it does not care for the WILL of the people, but the WILL of the one who sits in Malacañang.
As I have said, it is a COMELEC runaround. They are trying to fool the Filipino people to think that they are doing something about what happened in Maguindanao. Nicodemo Ferrer is displaying his fine acting ability by scowling at Lintang Bedol, Comelec is trying to look like an enforcer with its decision, and Chairman Abalos still looks clueless, but let’s not put anything over them. They are cunning, brazen, and willing to do anything in order to bring all their 2007 Election plans to a full completion.
Although, I had planned to take a two week vacation, I guess it had to be cut short for this kind of crap. The kind that smells of cheating, fraud, and a misuse of power. The COMELEC is severely treading on dangerous grounds, although with the kind of backing it has in Malacañang, I’m not surprised at all.
The sentence of Lintang Bedol is yet to be implemented because COMELEC will wait for a motion of reconsideration from Bedol’s camp. The lawyer of Bedol is also touting that the sentence is too extreme.
How the hell do these people sleep at night, or even wake up in the morning?
But, hear this, nothing has happened.
Indirect contempt does not go into the Cheating in Maguindanao. It doesn’t even address it. This is a public relations ploy, so that the Filipino people will be conditioned to relax on their outrage as to what happened in Maguindanao.
As if the death of Musa Dimasidsing was not enough, they rammed down our own throat, the win of Migz Zubiri. Then this! What a bunch of crap, and I hope the Filipino people realize that they are being fed, crap.
Too much use of the word crap? In my own defense, this seems like the most polite word that I can describe this whole situation and all those involved.
I am fuming, angry, and maybe even a little bit exhausted. The Lintang Bedol case, has taken up many nights of this blogger’s 2007 election coverage. And yet, the Filipino people seem not to care. We have seen yet another election in which the voter’s rights have been stripped away. Yes, the opposition won in the Senate, but in my own point of view, one less Senator is one less advocate in the fight against the Tyranny that we have today.
More Nicodemo Ferrer Drama
Ferrer dismissed criticism that Bedol was getting off easy.
“Is spending six months in jail a slap on the wrist?” he said, adding that a two-month jail term was suggested during the commission’s deliberations, but that the majority had prevailed.
Hell yes, it’s a damn slap on the wrist. What else could it be? When the Comelec doesn’t even address and want the information with regards to the Maguindanao Cheating. 6 months is a slap on the wrist. Dying is not.
In the case of Musa Dimasidsing, he had to sacrifice his life in order for the nation to see the atrocities and gross misconduct that occurred in Maguindanao. Death is sacrifice. 6 months in jail, that is almost too funny for anyone to defend. Especially when it comes to Lintang Bedol, the forever missing nomad of The Philippines, the “pirate” of the Philippines, and the cheater at large.
[Ferrer also said that] “We have to clean up any anomaly that may have been committed in the last elections in Maguindanao … I am new at the Comelec and I have been told that in every election, the same problem crops up in Maguindanao, in Mindanao.”
With Bedol facing additional administrative and criminal charges, Ferrer said he presumed that the man would no longer serve in the 2010 presidential election.
Is Ferrer serious? He’s been told that this is the case? As if he wouldn’t have known it before coming into the COMELEC? Even a Filipino Child that has just been born could probably utter the words, “cheating in Mindanao”. Everyone knew beforehand. Watchgroups were shouting and pleading with the COMELEC before the elections.
COMELEC was told that this would happen, and yet they promoted Lintang Bedol and all the Garci cronies to key positions in Mindanao. They did not secure the elections in Maguindanao, and they did not secure their own high ranking officials. In the end, documents were stolen, then lost, then replaced with fraudulent Provincial COCs that, at the end of the day, clinched the 12th spot for Migz Zubiri. As early as election day and the days succeeding, COMELEC was being told by NAMFREL that no one was allowed to witness the canvassing, but no action was taken. NONE.
Comelec cannot defend itself from allegations of being in cahoots with the cheats, or even being cheats themselves, when they have failed most miserably to ensure an honest election.
The proof is in the numbers. No need to debate. Just look at the numbers. The clear irregularity from the town of Pagalungan compared to the rest of the towns in Maguindanao is just too obvious. The threatening words leveled against witnesses, including that against Musa Dimasidsing, was enough to make me sick.
Posted Bail
With recent news that Lintang Bedol has posted bail, it’s really not a surprise, why I think, that behind the scenes, everyone in The COMELEC, including Lintang Bedol and Chairman Abalos is laughing and grinning with an evil chuckle to match.
CHEATING FIRST, CONTEMPT LATER
But the biggest question with regards to the Maguindanao Matter is that why would the COMELEC pursue an indirect contempt charge first, and delay the cheating investigation? I mean, the indirect contempt charge should have been leveled against Lintang Bedol back in May when he first failed to show up. It took them two months to declare indirect contempt, and probably another million years to check on the allegations of cheating.
When one has to think about it, wouldn’t you want to investigate the cheating first anyway, since it is a matter that is more urgent, important, and definitely has a time constraint.
With regards to the time constraint aspect of it all, let’s see what happens when we wait.
The longer the wait, the more time there is to manufacture fake documents, more time for evidence to be lost or tossed aside, as well as more time to pressure witnesses, or in the case of Musa Dimasidsing, more time to kill them.
I sincerely, doubt that both cases, couldn’t have been leveled against Lintang Bedol, concurrently. File the indirect contempt charge at the same time, file the cheating cases against him.
After all, isn’t the work of “Task Force Maguindanao” supposed to be to find out exactly what has happened in Maguindanao. The indirect contempt, although worthwhile, does not even address anything about what happened in Maguindanao. Again, it’s a public relations stunt.
The true question of what happened in Maguindanao may never be answered as long as we have such incompetent COMELEC, or competent, depending on your view.
Although the result is obvious and clear to the thinking person, the actions behind the scenes that led to the Miraculous Maguindanao votes, is yet to be answered. (For example, what happened to the documents that were “lost” by Lintang Bedol?)
Lintang Bedol, because he has stayed loyal, will be rewarded with a light sentence, and no doubt, his tremendous “sacrifice” will be duly noted by his “superiors”.
And that’s todays writing with regards to Lintang Bedol, I’m officially back from my vacation, and the focus, once again, is on clean governance, the human and civil rights of Filipinos, and calling out dirty officials as we see them. Come on and join me once again, as we write about the real issues in The Philippines. May God help those who get in our way, for our words will not be light, and our criticism will be unending.

Glad to have you back, Nick.
The Bedol coddling came as no surprise to me. I had absolutely no doubts about the lack of integrity of COMELEC – every single hypocritical one of them. The mere view of the mirthless laugh and contrived smile pasted on their faces makes my bile pour.
I’m right there with you. We have to keep our pace up as the cheaters continue to cheat us blind. Now the COMELEC wants to cleanse the media for besmirching the COMELEC’s immaculate(?) name. I haven’t forgotten Musa.
the Comelec commissioners are not idiots. They know exactly what they are doing.
But I hope they go and charge the media men for electoral sabotage or even libel. I want to see them produce proof that will end up with them hanging themselces.
