I had originally titled this post, “Stop The Corruption, and the Rallies will stop”. But now that I think about it, it’s a wrong title because I firmly believe the rallies should not cease, because the crimes have already been done. And even if President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ceases to do any more wrongdoings, that does not entitle her to a get out of jail free card for the past illegalities that she may have been involved in.

So, why should those who rally against The Arroyo Regime be to blame anyway? Or why should the opposition be to blame for all the blunders, graft, and corruption that has been done and is continuing to be done under the Arroyo Administration? Those who are apologists for President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo cannot answer such a question without truly knowing in their conscience, that what is happening in the nation is a clear result of what is happening inside that Presidential Office.

For every action there will come a reaction, it’s the law of the universe, even the president herself cannot deny this. If good governance is the goal, then she should herself strive for that ideal. Instead, all the nation receives is a bunch of misguided officials and department heads who are willing to go along with the lie.

If they are willing to go along with the lie, then by the same token, the Filipino people shall keep pushing for reform and a call for resignation.

It is not by our own doing, but by the doing of President Gloria Arroyo that we have come again to call for her resignation.

The woman just won’t listen or heed the call for good governance. She’s incapable. And because of this, she is also incapable of leading our country. In a time, when we need strong leadership, a transparent government, and a commander in chief worthy to be called President, she has stooped to level of a criminal. We cannot follow a leader like this, nor should we?

Again, it is not our own doing, but it is a just reaction to the squandered days of The President herself who has made such a reaction possible. Is there anything left that is sacred to our republic that our dear President has chosen to ignore. Our fundamental rights of suffrage, to elect individuals of our own will. Our fundamental rights of knowing the truth, of transparency in government. Our fundamental right to live. Our fundamental right to protest. Our fundamental right to exist as a just republic. Our fundamental right to have a job. Our fundamental right of freedom of speech. Our fundamental rights are being eaten alive, by an entity that we now realize as being The Arroyo Administration.

So rally, protest, and move ahead for Resignation calls. It is the right of every Filipino. Or we may awake one day, where all our rights have gone, and we find ourselves once again in the grips of Martial Law, under the rule of another dictatorship.

We seek the right to know what the truth is. And rally we must, until that right is given back to us.

Arroyo will not stop her corruption and her lies, because the moment that Office of hers becomes transparent, we shall finally see the full extent of that corruption.
