Dirty Harry, Mayor Alfredo Lim, And Abraham

Our local version of Dirty Harry is probably facing his biggest test on his stand against drugs. Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim’s son has been arrested for selling drugs, and his hands off policy on his own son’s case is something that has this Filipino blogger’s admiration for this Mayor skyrocket because of this stand. Mayor Lim is known to be tough on his campaign against drugs.

This situation is reminiscent of the biblical story of the “binding of Isaac”. The story is of Abraham and the instruction of him from God to sacrifice his own son Isaac. This is a test of Abraham’s obedience. Abraham indeed sets out to sacrifice his son, but in the last moment, an Angel of The Lord stops him, at which point Abraham sees a ram to sacrifice instead.

The story of Abraham and Mayor Alfredo Lim is a story of loyalty and obedience. While Abraham may have been obeying the command of God, Mayor Lim is obeying the command of The People of The Philippines. This is the true test of a public official, when even his son’s fate isn’t enough to sway his decisions and his integrity.

Mayor Lim has not visited, has ordered The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to not give his son any special treatment.

It’s Holy Week, it’s a week of sacrifice, and Mayor Lim is heeding this call. Now, if only other public officials can follow suit.

  1. To Nick.. Oh my…I am very much zealous over biblical stories so I urge you not to correlate ANY of the stories in the bible to that of Alfredo Lim…. If he was truly a sage, (like you are saying), then how come his son was able to bail out.. its either you are plainly vacuous or your simply a ninny… You are obviously idolizing a nefarious man who uses marketing stints (such as what you have watched) to make his name seem good.. There are a lof of things that seems pleasing to the eyes but are rather rubbish inside… that is LIM… Im sorry to be so bullheaded about that.. Right at this very moment, your dear idol is in the US looking for his money that he asked Mang Turing ( his dear friend) to keep.. unfortunately Mang Turing died a few weeks ago.. and it is only HIM who know where he kept Lim’s money… I believe that Lim squandered of so much money during his 6 years term before his 1 year stay in city hall.. If your in doubt, research on what truly happened with George co and his properties… how come Lim had 1 B money to invest in Equitable PCI.. sad though but true, since Equitable slumped down, his money went down with it as well.. but then , he was compensated by a very huge and extorbitant home in Forbes Park and in the US just for this chinese businessman’s life to be spared… I think more than Abraham, you must correlate Lim with Lucifer…. O well, after reading this if you still look up to your Man then maybe you need to see a shrink.. obviously you are very much delusional….
