Currently Reading: Primer On Neri Case

I have Manuel Quezon’s blog on my feed reader. This is always good so that I know in a timely manner, whether he has posted a new post. Today, he has an excellent Primer on The Neri Case. I am currently reading it at the moment, so grab some coffee, it’s going to be a good read.

Here’s just one aspect of Executive Privilege that few probably know, but should know, and that is the blanket with which Executive Privilege can be invoked.

What are the types of executive privilege?

a. state secrets (regarding military, diplomatic and other security matters)

b. identity of government informers

c. information related to pending investigations

d. presidential communications

e. deliberative process

There’s been a lot of writings that have been done on The Neri Case, this is probably one blog post that should be read for the uninitiated in the topic of Neri, NBN, and executive Privilege.

(I’ll write more after reading the whole post)
