Angelo Reyes, Jack of All Secretaries
Angelo Reyes is “everywhere man”, a Jack of all trades, or maybe Jack of all Secretaries. From one department to another, because of his undying support for President Gloria Arroyo, he keeps being awarded these nice little positions. If you can call Secretary of the Department of Energy a little job, then I guess, Angelo Reyes, before the President’s term is up (if ever at all), will score some more yummy positions. He’s like a designated hitter for the Administration (sorry for the baseball analogy), but I am sincerely doubting his batting average (sorry for continuing with the analogy)..
This is the reward for blind loyalty, or maybe just loyalty in the midst of….
Congratulations Secretary Reyes, maybe you should just change your first name from Angelo to Secretary, it suits you.

Mahirap na baka makabaliktad na naman si Angelo Reyes. May three years pa si Gloria.
GMA should keep him in her sights. Baka next time ay yan pa ang umupo sa palace by the murky river. Keep a snake well-fed and it will never bite you.
Ok lang na siya ang uupo na secretary ng energy baka may magandang plano siya sa departamento.
Looking at the comments brings to mind the adage : There is no reality, only perceptions. For me, loyalty to country takes precedence over loyalty to friend. Look deeper into his track record, not unproven accusations. To me, after reading thru some of his writings after EDSA 2, he is a good example of a soldier-scholar.
rickyval, we are talking about appointing a secretary. This merits a process by which you choose the best among all the candidates. I have not said that he is not a bright man, what this post is meant to convey is that his positions in government are endless. Although, The President should have put into the position, the most qualified candidate, it seems that loyalty to her regime is the consideration that she values most.
In other words, I don’t doubt that he’s a soldier-scholar, but so are thousands of other worthy candidates. The ultimate critique, and observation, is that he’s just not the right candidate, and this is obvious when you look at how many different positions he’s already held. Clearly, by the wide ranging fields, one can securely conclude that indeed, he is a Jack of All trades.. And thus, logic, can we say he’s master of any of these trades?
Qualifying isn’t just enough, he must be the best among all the rest, and if that isn’t met, then he’s the wrong man for the job.
