Writing Project Musa Dimasidsing: Day One
The group writing project day one is supposed to start today, there have only been two bloggers with responses to Musa Dimasidsing, but there are some who have written about Musa Dimasidsing, without even being prompted to do so. Musa Dimasidsing is the teacher who was shot dead on Saturday Evening, the same teacher who exposed the cheating and fraud and corroborated the testimonies of other teachers in Maguindanao.
This writing project is to show our collective voice, and our reactions to such a senseless murder. Musa Dimasdsing is indeed another Martyr of the 2007 election.
Here are the blogs who have written about Musa Dimasidsing, (Note, I am extending this writing project until next Wednesday, so you can still inform me if you will be writing about Musa Dimasidsing, just leave a comment on the writing project page)
Alex Maximo writes, Droppin’ The Dime, saying: He blew the whistle, now he’s dead. Many would dismiss this as a case of election-related violence. I personally could care less about two oligarchs blasting each other’s camps to oblivion. But Musa Dimasidsing is a teacher who never compromised the truth when everyone else tried to hide it.
Arbet writes, Rage Against The Dying of The Light, His death is a sign of what is wrong with this country. As our concept of civic-consciousness dies because we tend to think by the stomach, this death is just that - a death. We no longer rage at the evil of murder, we no longer rage at poll cheaters, we no longer care at all.
Jim Paredes took the challenge as well, and despite his always positive writing, I applaud his patriotism and need to show that we should not stand for any of this: If the death of Musa Dimasidsing is to mean something, we must express outrage and let our leaders know about it. The Garcis of Comelec should be ostracized and punished. The Comelec, if it has any decency left should get to the bottom of this and punish the perpetrators. And yet, I know that as I write this, I sound just like another angry writer to our newspapers whose sound and fury will MOST LIKELY amount to nothing. For Musa Dimasidsing and what he stood for and paid dearly with his life, we must rage against the cheating machine and topple it because it tramples on our rights to freely choose our leaders.
Tapos, nag brown out.
There are more bloggers who will be writing about this, they have already confirmed their intent to write and expressed their outrage by the death of Musa Dimasidsing. We will make our voices heard, and thank you as well to the bloggers who are taking up this challenge. I hope day two will also bring in more voices from the blogosphere…
Remember, truth, justice, freedom, and democracy is nonpartisan, it belongs to all…
