Writing Project Musa Dimasidsing: Day Five

This is Day Five of our Writing Project Musa Dimasidsing. Over the past few days, I have been inspired. At the way journalists have written so passionately about Musa Dimasidsing. And with equal passion, bloggers have also taken up this event. I have to admit, today was interesting, because of Migz, read on so you will realize why.

The writing project will culminate this Wednesday, so you can still write an entry. As I have said before, it doesn’t have to be a novel, a paragraph, or even a sentence. Two words, “I’m Outraged!”, would be more than enough. As long as it is thoughtful, and it represents how you truly feel about the murder of Musa Dimasidsing. And most of all, you need not be a political and social blogger, you only need to be concerned.

You can still submit today before the 12 noon deadline. Without further delay, here are the Day Five entries,

tatlumpong libong isda has written, The Liability in Truth: A Tribute to Musa Dimasidsing: I believe that many souls in this country refuse to pervert reason. However, they’re constantly dwindling in our country where the government seems to monopolize over its steel hands to shut the horses’ mouth.

Many thanks to Susan “Toots” Ople, has written the second poem to be entered into the writing project. Toots has always been a favorite blogger of mine, and I thank her for writing such a powerful and moving poem.

Susan “Toots” Ople has written the poem, Alay Kay Musa Dimasidsing.

I also invited Migz Paraz, one of my favorite Filipino bloggers, to the writing project. Migz writes a lot about technology, blogging, and business. I don’t usually get this response, but he said he was “politically apathetic”. I wasn’t too sure how to respond to that, so I gave him a quick passionate response about how the killing of Musa Dimasidsing had more to do about our humanity and that it was a social concern as much as it was political.

So Migz Paraz wrote, I, Unfilipino?: First, I’m apathetic. I admitted as much when Nick of tingog.com asked me to write about Musa Dimasidsing. I didn’t even vote in the last elections (though that’s since I’m out of the country, and not due to apathy.) I don’t care about Pinoy politics - I find world politics much more interesting and important. Nick did point out it is a social concern. There are some social issues I do care about, and I will post about them in the future. It looks like my blog topics are shifting. I guess there’s only so much I can write about business and tech!

  2. Nick,

Wrote a poem for Musa. Please link to http://www.susanople.com. It’s entitled “Alay kay Musa Dimasidsing.”

By the way, this is a very worthy project. I salute you for taking the time and effort to do this.

    Best always,

    Toots

  3. @Toots, that was powerful, really moving. Thank you for the entry. You are definitely an inspiration to me.

  4. Hi Nick,

You wrote in your comment, “As much as I am passionate about Philippine society, I am also as passionate about maintaining good relationships with fellow bloggers…”

There’s no need to apologize. I don’t mind you asking me to write. I’m just saying that I’m not in a position to write about that topic - because I don’t know much about the topic, and personally I don’t care - thus the apathy. I’m not against writing or the project.
