Italian Priest Father Giancarlo Bossi Has Been Released
Browsing through the headlines, it caught my eye, Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi has announced that Father Bossi has been released. This was just announced less than an hour ago.
I wonder why the Arroyo Administration wasn’t the one who announced the release? At this point, I really don’t give a damn. I’m just happy that Father Bossi has been released. There are bound to be questions to be asked, and I hope that he answers them for us. Maybe he can answer the week old question on whether or not he knows if the Abu Sayyaf was involved in the Tipo Tipo ambush of the Marines which ended in the death of 14 marines, because as Ramon Tulfo has said, the Abu Sayyaf was not involved, and frankly I am inclined to agree.
As to the legitimacy of Ramon’s sources, I don’t doubt it at all. I sometimes don’t agree with Ramon on some of his opinion articles, but this one seems a bit more detailed, and is actually focused on the lack of reinforcements that has been center scandal with regards to the Tipo Tipo incident.

Hi Nick,
Frankly, I don’t know if I should take this as good news but for the sake of argument, let’s… All I can say is that politically, what an opportuned moment for the nation’s “commander in chief” — the “abrupt” release of the kidnapped Italian priest who was held captive by ‘unknown’ forces in Mindanao for 40 days is about to give Gloria the important makeover she needs before she faces the nation. Isn’t she about to pronounce her SONA before Congress?
Extraordinary timing, wouldn’t you say? (Now she’ll have to show ‘em insurgents down south a bit of gratitude and I have no doubt she will - maybe she’ll let them behead 10 more Marines…)
I don’t believe the MILF didn’t know where Bossi was. Let’s face it, the threat of an all out war in the South prompted them to produce Bossi, of course a little prodding by Malaysian advisers must have helped but there can be no doubt the MILF knew which button to push to get his kidnappers to produce Bossi from the very beginning! Bastards! And they had to kill 14 or 30 Marines to prove their point? That Kabalu’s friends had to behead 10 Marines to tell Esperon and Gloria what they thought of these two pillocks?

But let’s face it, this “good will” by the insurgent Muslim group didn’t come without a price either, monetarily that is. I won’t put payment of ransom past Gloria regime to get the MILF forces of beheaders and mutilators cracking, i.e., produce Bossi, as in the following (I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt that she didn’t beg the MILF to release the Italian priest):
“Listen I will bomb you to kingdom come you miserable pigheads! You know Philippine opinion is with me to bomb you but here’s what, give me Bossi and we’re even, on top of which, I’ll give you a million dollars if you produce the priest right away! Capisce?”
And guess what? Esperon will NOT fight in the South.. He’s just been named a Datu according to the Inquirer that released this picture via their website on line!
Philippine Daily Inquirer pic caption reads: DATU TAWAGA. Indigenous people leaders from different parts of Mindanao confer on Armed Forces chief of Staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon Jr. the title Datu Tawaga, named after a legendary tribal warrior. Esperon said he has been close to indigenous people since his stint as a brigade commander in Mindanao. Anyway, I knew there was a hitch somewhere when Esperon declared immediately after the MILF beheaded the 10 Marines, “We must keep our cool; we must not jeopardize the peace talks with the MILF… yakatiyakyakyak…” His crowning as Datu Tagawa was about to take place!
Here’s the story that’s going around about Esperon:
Q: What does Esperon do to lose weight?
A: He runs away from the MILF.
I have no doubt that The MILF is succeeding with its railroading of the peace process. But I’m not sure either that the Military top brass wishes to end all this squabbling and fighting.
For the sake of argument, more battles, the more money needed for the defense budget.. more for the defense budget, could mean more kickbacks for corrupt officials…
I wouldn’t put it past any of these top officials or even This Administration, that there exists, always, a hidden agenda..
But with regards to Bossi, The MILF is playing too many games, giving up nothing, and in the end, Esperon is bending over backwards to please these MILF scumbags…
It’s a big deal, because they talk tough with regards to activists and leftist groups, but right in front of their eyes, The MILF is defying their orders, and yet, they kiss ass…
Here’s what I wrote in my blog:

Gloria and Esperon knew where Bossi was, knew who held him, knew about the demand for ransom — no force on earth will convince me that they didn’t know! Bossi’s abrupt release proved that there was an offer by the kidnappers for a deal from the beginning and believe me, Malacanang and Esperon were hoping the Italians would come up with the funds to pay off the kidnappers. They had Class A info about the kidnappers even before the beheading of the 10 Marines!

The Italians who decided to put up the money hastened the transaction when they finally realized the AFP just wastn’t up to the task of rescuing Bossi and am pretty sure Gloria was told that they were gonna do it. So what happened? Malacanang gave the go signal to the “brokers” to move. As sure as the sun rises, I’m sure that the transaction involving Italian officials couldn’t have taken place without the brokering by locals ‘licensed’ by Malacanang, a transaction that was hastened pronto by Malacanang for her upcoming SONA.

I have no doubt that the panel of the “negotiators” that finally negotiated for the release of Bossi using Italian taxpayers’ money included people with links into Malacanang a.k.a. Gloria-Esperon insiders.
Reading more and more about the circumstances, and the admittance that they paid for the terrorist’s “lodging fees”, and knowing that a Gloria man was nearby just before the release, it does cast a shadow of doubt on the whole situation.
