Bishops, SC Decision, Losing The Faith, And 95%
The more I hear some of these Bishops kiss ass in order to feed their own hunger for the monetary donations that come reigning down upon them as long as they tow the line, the more my faith is hit. But not to God, but to these Bishops who, after all, are just human. I have lost my adoration for most of them, they bleed just like you or I. And they can be as wrong as any other guy who follows this current Administration’s lies and deceptions.
Catholic bishops on Wednesday called for respect for the Supreme Court decision preventing the Senate from compelling former socioeconomic planning secretary Romulo Neri from testifying on President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s role in the canceled $329-million national broadband network (NBN) deal.
Bishop Buenaventura Famadico of Gumaca, Quezon, said the Roman Catholic Church has always upheld the rule of law.
“In this case, respect for our constitutional institutions like the Supreme Court is primary,”
“When we said the truth must be exposed, we wanted it to be done the right way, the legal way. We should abide by due process and the law,” he said.
Bishop Leonardo Medroso of Tagbilaran, Bohol, aired a similar perspective in a separate interview.
Even Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz, a vocal critic of the administration, said the tribunal remained a credible institution despite its ruling on Neri’s case.
“I think the integrity of the Supreme Court is still believable because of the difference in the votes,” he said, adding: “I believe the Supreme Court did not want to risk national security by exposing to the public what Neri could have disclosed.”
Cruz said he also believed that Neri’s remaining testimony could be insignificant because he has already revealed “95 percent of the facts about the NBN deal.”
What national security? He believes what is thrown at him as a proper excuse. There is only a cover-up, pure and simple. He should open his “holy” eyes!
And it is the difference in the votes that should tell us exactly why, The Supreme Court as a whole is not believable. And it is this difference that tells us that individual justices may be believable, but not all of them. It may be, that some of those nine who had a consenting opinion had within their mental workings, the perception of a right decision, but not all of them, not even most of them, or even some of them. Most of those nine judges, who consented, were the same as the Bishops who follow Malacañang.
Just towing the line.
And that last part, in Cruz’s statement is what truly gets me all riled up. When he tells everyone to pack it up. When he tells everyone that Neri’s testimony would be insignificant. And he goes into mathematics of percentages — 95%.
Well, let me lecture our good Bishop on 95%.
There’s 3% left that Neri should be giving us, and that is embodied in the three questions.
And then there’s 2% left, for everything else that he hasn’t told the Senators.
For a grand total of 100%. This is the whole truth, and nothing but the truth — SO HELP HIM GOD.
Are the Bishops, now only allowing children to tell half-truths as acceptable? Telling the whole nation, that moral justice need not mean the telling of the whole truth?
Just as long as 95% of the truth is intact?
I suppose, during confessions, he only wants to hear 95% of our sins as well?
And this is what’s sad, that even in their explanation they taunt the Filipino public into thinking that

I can relate with your frustration on the moral shepherds’ risky maneuverings of its flock. Instead of bringing us to the wide bountiful pastures, they are pushing us closer to the cliff.
Don’t know what Bishop Cruz is now taking for his medication but with his reaction, it doesn’t seem he’s got the right dosage.
I’ve said it in my blog, as long as this situation persists, I am breaking the chain of command, if you will, and going direct to my Creator.
