Benjamin Abalos, HamBerjer, And The Twisting Of Words
The other day I watched Harapan: The Jun Lozada exposé. At first, like most people, I thought that it would be a head on battle between Benjamin Abalos and Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada. It turned out to be Jun Lozada versus Abalos, General Razon, A. Sec. Formoso, and Golez.
There were so many parts during the whole episode that a person would just want to throw stuff at the television whenever Benjamin Abalos was on. Or any of the other goons of Malacañang for that matter.
In the part of the Harapan program shown in the video above, Abalos is so intent in trying to clear his name, that he tries to rig the statement of Jun Lozada. Just like the rigging of elections, it is happening in front of our very own eyes.
Lozada clearly says that it is Abalos who is the main proponent of this deal. He has ties with ZTE and First Gentleman. It is Abalos’ talks with FG that results in the approval of the NBN deal on China’s end. ZTE provides the kickback. Plain and simple.
Abalos tries to turn this around, and says: “Thank you Jun” for saying that I had nothing to do with this.
GAGO!
How can we trust Abalos, if he even tries to tell a lie or distort the facts right in front of our very own eyes! He says thank you many times over to Jun Lozada for saying that he had nothing to do with the deal. Nothing in Jun Lozada’s statement even comes close, and yet, Abalos grasps at straws. The liar right in front of camera.
In the previous portion before this exchange, Lozada talks about a “Tide Loan” in which people from our government will dictate that the loan will be connected to a company that the corrupt officials already has ties with. This way, once the loan is set for approval on our end, we have no means of moving forward with bidding because the loan is already tied to a certain company. In our case with NBN, the company is with ZTE, the corrupt official is Benjamin Abalos.
The problem with this portion of the program is that the moderators did not catch the attempt of Abalos to twist the words of Lozada. I have deep respect for Korina like any other person, but it is this very crucial part when Benjamin Abalos keeps trying to dictate the words, and Korina as well as Ricky does not seem to catch it at that specific instant. It was so irritating. I know it’s hard to be on camera, moderating, at the same time watching the clock, at the same time getting cues from your producer, but it’s the job they were supposed to do. To be ill-prepared for a show when the truth is at stake is unacceptable.
It is the producer that probably had the final say in the format, the personalities, and the flow of the show. In that respect, much of the blame goes to this person.
There were no answers that came out of this program, no revelations, no clarifications, only Abalos feeling smug because he thinks he was the wiser. For some viewers though, even though 92% ended up siding with Jun Lozada, they may have thought Abalos had some points.
But as we have learned so far. None of the points raised by Abalos are credible, or have already been rebutted, paving the way for a still consistent, very credible Lozada testimony.
The Hamberjer incident is another case because as Jun Lozada has said in an interview with Mike Enriquez, he only came back to Wack Wack Golf Club when going along with Neri. Had it just been Jun Lozada, he would have never gone to Wack Wack alone. Again, we really need to chip in for Benjamin Abalos’ speech tutorial.
Second, Abalos never even tries to challenge Lozada on the phone records.
Third, as I have pointed out earlier, Lozada only says the following: Abalos had ties to FG, Abalos had to ZTE
Fourth, the testimony that Abalos gives as to his relationship with ZTE has been flip flopping for months now. Jun Lozada points this out correctly
Last, Abalos is seasoned, his habit of trying to run circles around the point of logic is legendary. But when the truth is at stake, and all the cards he has in his hands are lies, even the most seasoned of liars can’t put to logic the illogical reasoning of false statements.
