Ok, this is my favorite phrase when it comes to having wrong grammar. An individual invites someone to eat at their house.. but instead says “I invite you to eat my house”

English is often used in Philippine schools, however, Filipino English is different from American English or British English. It is based upon the American language but with strong influences of the indigenous languages.
Following are some of the euphemisms and their meanings:

brownout = “power outage”
CR or comfort room = restroom
yaya = nanny
open or close lights, instead of “turn-on or turn-off lights”
air con = a/c or air conditioner
take out instead of “to go”
Ha? for what
Hoy! to get someone’s attention
Uy! for Ops!
for a while means “one moment please”
Also prevalent is the use of brands’ names as nouns, such as:
Cutex for nail polish
Colgate for toothpaste
Tide for laundry detergent
Frigidaire for Refrigerator
