Filipino Voices Needs Your Voices

The Philippine Blog Awards is here, it has come, it has arrived. Mark your calendars, September 21 is D day.

And one award that has distinguished itself from all the rest, is indeed, The Bloggers’ Choice Award, because it all hinges on the blogging community, our peers, our colleagues, and our friends. For all the excitement, personally, this award has grabbed my interest the most.

And I have only one choice, my blogger’s choice, and it is Filipino Voices.

Reason?

Because it has finally come, that no longer are we going to sit in the sidelines, in order to exact change in our nation. Filipino Voices is going to take a lead, and it has started to do so, in terms of providing relevant articles, opinions, views, news, and social commentary.

Filipino Voices is to become, what citizen media, what new media, and what responsible citizenry should uphold. The passion by which we write, the knowing that we are contributing to the knowledge of our readers, it is all something that, as bloggers, we should all be proud of.

Who knew, years back, that we could take back our own democracy, take back the way we view our news, the way we view our politics, the way we view our society… and let loose the fury of hundreds of posts, through a medium we call a blog.

It is happening, it is here, and hopefully you realize that Filipino Voices is taking advantage of technology and is passionately taking news, politics, and social commentary to a whole new level.

I am voting for Filipino Voices, because I realize its importance as we move forward as a blogging community. As we become more relevant in Philippine Society, we take the focus out of ourselves, and towards The Filipino People. It is this responsibility that each and every FV writer seems to realize is at the heart of our collaboration. In independence we are strong, but in unity, FV has proven itself more than worthy… We hope you feel the same way.
