Clarity
Hello. Hmm. It seems like Nick is on a hiatus. But anyway, guys, as you comment on the Malu Fernandez and other issues, please do bear in mind that Nick, me, and everyone else at Tingog.com are actually just messengers. We are aware that we all are irritated with the situations that beset our country and our people, as well as the people who belittle it and us, but please bear in mind that the writers here, and Nick, the owner of this blog, are not supposed to be the targets of hatred. Feel free to comment, be angry, and throw tomatoes, and even write as if we are the ones who wrote those, but we hope that we all bear in mind that Nick and the Tingog.com writers are only bearers of the news, no matter how bad that news gets.
I’m just announcing this because the way some comments sounded, I was fearing you guys were thinking that we were Malu Fernandez. Goodness gracious, no. Damned if we’d let anti-Filipino-ism in here.
Carry on Pinoys! On to progress!
Mabuhay ang Pilipino! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

And oh, as a disclaimer, I would just like to defend Nick in that, I believe he is a man who is passionate for his country. While I believe that sometimes his zeal can be misplaced, I believe that it is not about moralizing or about pointing fingers. I believe that we should all work for progress. I do not deny the fact that I also took a pitchfork to Ms. Fernandez. I honestly believe I shouldn’t have, because I have a bigoted side too. Cast the first stone?
I believe, however, that Nick and countless others (including myself) reacted to Malu because of the spirit with which she wrote. While Wow Mali and Bubble Gang poke fun, aren’t we all used to how we cope with our circumstances through self-deprecating humor? But Malu wasn’t self-deprecating. She had denounced her people, she had denounced the very individuals who have toiled to salvage the Philippine Economy. She had taken the same tone that a mistress would regard her slave. When our country, when our people, are being lambasted left and right by other countries, we would suck it up, because let’s face it, we are slaves to these as yet. But should we take a crapload from our own fellowmen?
A lot of us secretly denounce our country, too. A lot of us openly denounce it. But did people take verbal (and video file format) pitchforks to skewer us? Well, it’s our lucky lot that we didn’t get published on People Asia. But surely, given the right circumstances, lechon din tayo kagaya ni Malu; at kababayan pa natin ang magle-lechon sa’tin.
So, moral of the story: do not denounce your country or your people on a worldwide publication wherein people can lynch you when they read the crap you wrote. Bigger moral of the story: let’s stop all this pitchfork-wielding and bellyaching. Let’s work for progress.

I believe there’s not much clarity in your statements. I believe there’s notr much thoughts nor sense in what you are talking about. I believe that aside from a grossly bad grammatical construction, your item above suffers irreparable rhetorics.
I believe that ….. jeez! nakakailang I believe ka ba in 24 hours……. I believe you should not be writing again……… for crying out loud!
Believe me….it doesn’t make any sense. In fact, I don’t get it…I don’t understand what you wewre tryin’ to direct your readers to…. much talk with no sense…what’s the meaning?
What’s it all about? What’s the “bear in mind” thing-y? Are in anyway related to Manny Pacquiao? Seriously?
I believe you are…. you’re contagious…see… I believe….blah blah…

Call as you see it. That is what you’ve been doing. At least you are not apathetic like those who try to fool themselves that everything is fine and dandy in a nation of despair. I suppose they cannot handle the truth, the truth that they are part of the problem why we continue to be second class citizens even in our own country.
I hope to see you passionately writing again and standing up for what you believe in.
if no one will issue the call, i will. EDSA shrine this weekend. saturday and sunday. be there.
I believe that you should shut your brig mouth… nakakailang I believe ka ba sa isang araw…. ka irate!
Thanks for the defense Lorie, I appreciate it. I feel as if I don’t need it, and well, I don’t think my “zeal” is misplaced. Where else should we place our passion other than where we are most passionate about? That in itself is the very definition of passion. We are not mainstream media, nor do we want to be bound by such a label. We are independent and deep thinking Filipinos who write about what we are passionate about. And thus, we need not to explain ourselves. I myself need no approval from others, only approval from my own self, that I am being true to myself and to my conviction.

But I thank you Lorie, I certainly don’t agree with most of what was written, but it’s your view, and it’s your voice. And I’m glad you are choosing to participate.
