This anonymous blogging thing, doesn’t work for me sometimes. I like the freedom that I have when it comes to not having to divulge my actual identity, but sometimes, it is a hindrance towards actually developing a connection with my readers. As I started Tingog.com, my main focus was not on myself, but towards the issues and the topics that I wrote about. But since, Filipino Voices, I have come to the conclusion, that this may be the year that I may have to forgo that initial preference.

In all honesty, I just don’t want my family to have to undergo a sense of fear, or loss of privacy, because of the many topics I write about here as well as over at Filipino Voices. These are touchy subjects, and in a republic where journalists are sometimes the target of harassment and even death threats, there will come a time, when bloggers may face the same dangers.

But when we talk about conviction, even when faced with such dangers, I have to stand along side those who are already doing that.

Thus, this is a post, towards realizing that milestone, in which my actual identity will be revealed. First, here’s a start. My picture, only if I receive 50 comments in this post. If that number is reached, I will display my picture, a few facts about myself, and we’ll get the ball rolling that way.

In any case, everyone already knows a few things about me. I am an engineer. I am from Cebu as well as Samar. I graduated from The University of San Carlos. I am Filipno American. I currently reside in The United States. I am in my late twenties, although I feel much older, and sometimes much younger than my age lets me be..
